Re: Ozarks paddler hoping to get acquainted in LR
How much kayak can I get into the pool? Might be a moot point; I can only get my JK Rogue off the roof of my Durango by myself (I'll be at the RV park off and on while my wife is visiting the Texas grandchildren). But staying on the river downtown, by the NLR boat ramp, I can get some better sightse...

Ozarks paddler hoping to get acquainted in LR
I expect to be in Little Rock weekend of Feb 18 and for a few more days. My base will be an RV at Riverside RV in NLR. It's my initial explore LR venture. Sadly, I can't stay over for Central Chapter meeting on 28th. I get a lot of fair weather roll practice at Bull Shoals and might bring the Jackso...

Re: Austinkayak.com opinions (Mamba 8.1 package deal)
Would that be Austin Canoe and Kayak (Austinkayak.com)? I love this company. They are fast and have a wonderful return policy for gear. Ships free at $39. But for boats..don't know. Get the best deal for shipping that you can.

Is there a regular newsletter? How do I get it?
I joined in May and had an August newsletter pushed to my email. How often does it come out? I'm in Bull Shoals and far from any events. I will need to hear about event news early enough to plan, e.g. the Illinois River cleanup.

Re: Seeking paddlers near Bull Shoals, Harrison, Marshall
Hi, thanks for the reply. I've had a few days on Arkansas rivers 20 years ago, but it was June low water. Since moving here we've been on the White and lower Buffalo. Keep us in mind for future trips. We'll have to figure out logistics.

Re: New members ACC, living in Bull Shoals
We have JK Rogues, river runners good to class 3. I may or may not be good for class 3...out of practice due to Texas draught. So we 2 would like to explore some class 2. Hope we get some with the weather warming. And we'll have to backtrack to Houston for most of May. BTW, I've trained level 4 SWWR...

Does anyone live near us (Mountain Home, Harrison, Marshall area)? My wife and I are retired with time to pursue river and sea kayaking. I've trained SWWR L4. Get in touch!
