Re: Thoughts on North Carolina and Colorado.
It looks like there's a good chance I will be going to russellville. My girlfriend has an interview Monday. One thing, it will be an easier move (distance) than Co or NC lol.

Re: Thoughts on North Carolina and Colorado.
I haven't considered Fayetteville really because she's wants to work with mental illness. There's a state hospital in Little rock that has that as a specialty (Looney pin). We don't want to live in any city, so was figuring could live between LR and russellville . plenty to hike plenty to paddle. I'...

Re: Thoughts on North Carolina and Colorado.
After seeing everyone's advice, I think I'm going to make russellville area an option. Seems like it fairly central to a lot of good Ozark whitewater. It really hinges on where my girlfriend gets a nursing job. But I have told her to start looking in russellville are also. Lol

Re: Thoughts on North Carolina and Colorado.
The desert is depressing. The front range only gets 12" of rain a year. It is barren of moss. The wind blows all the time. The girls don't wear make up. That climate has a leather effect on their skin.(there is a reason why most Miss America Pageant winners come from the South) They don't know...

Re: Thoughts on North Carolina and Colorado.
Thanks for the info guys. I'm leaning toward the western NC area. I have thought about Colorado, but I like the concentration of whitewater in the smokys. Seems to be a little closer together instead of spread out, correct me if I'm wrong. Also a big plus about the smokys area is trees. Lol and the ...

Thoughts on North Carolina and Colorado.
I do realize this is an Arkansan mssg board. But I would like to ask a question about another couple of states that I know some here have had experience with. I might have the opportunity to relocate to Colorado or eastern tn or western North Carolina rather soon. a little back ground first. I have ...

Re: spring river info
And you are correct. 3'difference in the gauge then what I normally run at summer levels. And like said not much difference. No scraping, water had a good push and flow to it. But didn't make anything wild. Still did dead mans curve instead of the falls. Which was a little more fun than usual. But i...

Re: spring river info
Thanks for the info Jim. I have been running the st Francis upper and lower a lot lately. But bringing the lady with me this time so figured if the spring was good when its up would be a lot closer drive than the saint. Plus the girlfriend isn't ready to run the lower saint yet. Lol she has done the...

spring river info
Was wondering what spring river would be like at its current level (7'). My girlfriend and I are tossing around options for a Sunday run. I have paddled the spring more times than I can count. But only during the low scrapy summer levels. My question is, at the current level would it make the rapids...

And another picture. Bummer on the poor quality of the pictures. But it was foggy as ever, and the camera wasn't that great on a good day anyway.

Re: salado creek.
Thanks roger, for the info. Its the closest white water run to me. I live in Pocahontas, so its just over 50miles away. Been studying the atlas. Looks like there is a WMA butting up against the south side on the lower part of the run. Anyone know if this WMA is public? Its called Cherokee WMA. I tri...

I was wondering if anyone has ran salado creek lately? Gauge says its runable but I don't think its actually a gauge on the creek. So the only real way to check is count rocks at the take out lol. And to folks who have ran it, any advice for a first run?
