Re: This weekend

Woolum to Tyler Bend or Gilbert, depending on whether you want 15-ish or 20-ish miles. The level should be such to enable ~ 2 MPH and it's an easy shuttle.

Re: Outfitters Offering Rafting Trips?

We would be looking for a multi day guided trip. Coming up from Dallas, can be flexible on when and where. Just looking to experience some whitewater. Thanks To the best of my knowledge, a multi-day guided whitewater raft trip doesn't exist in Arkansas. The closest place for a trip like the one you...

Re: Outfitters Offering Rafting Trips?

Many of the outfitters that rent canoes and kayaks also have rafts for rent. A few more specifics on what type of trip you have in mind (day, multi-day, guided, etc.) and what river(s) you're interested in would be helpful.

I think most of the trip postings now occur on the ACC Facebook page. I'm not on FB, but that's what I hear.

IK's or rafts are for geezers. As long as you're in a boat that isn't made of rubber, you're still in the game. :kayak:

Re: visiting Buffalor, River HELP

The National Geographic map of the western part of the Buffalo River is a "must have" resource for planning any hiking or paddling adventures in the area you mention. The map shows the river and trails in the area as well as points of interest. Link below. http://www.amazon.com/Buffalo-Nat...

Re: Tepui Tents

Given that the roof racks on many cars and trucks are rated for less than 200 lbs. and the fact that the Tepui tents range in weight from 95 to over 200 lbs. alone PLUS the weight of the people in the tent while using it, I'd think that some serious rack or roof damage could occur.

Re: Tepui Tents

Someone explain to me why I'd want a tent like this as opposed to one on the ground with which I'd be less likely to break something if I fell out of it.

Re: campspot with a view?

Your profile shows that you're in Bee Branch so why not head up around the Buffalo River somewhere? The Buff is the Crown Jewel of the State. Are the motorcycles suitable for dirt roads or strictly for paved?
