Re: FS: Dagger Blackwater 10.5

I am completely new to the world of kayaks so I am no expert by any means. But from my personal experience with this boat I can honestly say it is a good bigginer/intermediate boat. With the drop down skeg it is easy to paddle in a straight line across flat water. Even with the skeg up it is easy to...

FS: Dagger Blackwater 10.5

As the title states, I am selling my Dagger Blackwater 10.5. I bought this off this forum from Crane at the end of last season. I have only used it a hand full of times. Minor scrapes on bottom from use but otherwise in perfect condition. I have mounted a Railblaza star port on the deck that can hol...

Re: New to kayaking

I had actually came across this information after I had asked the question. I still don't know which would be a better fit for me. Again not really interested in doing tricks. I like going fast. I like the idea of running bigger water. I think I'm leaning more for a creek boat but not sure...

Re: New to kayaking

With that being said, what are the differences in these boats? I'm guessing play boats are the extremely small boats that have the (without a better definition) pointy front end? But what makes the difference in a creek boat and a runner? And I am definitely more of a speed person than tricks. So pr...

Re: New to kayaking

Thanks to everyone again. I'm sure I'll have more questions as time goes on. I have been stretching and working on getting the exercises down. Looking into some better equipment. An try to be on the water as much as time and weather allow. This is by far the nicest forum I've ever been on. Most of t...

Re: New to kayaking

At the current time I do not have access to a gym due to time constraints, but the wife and I have been considering a treadmill and a few weights. Started some light stretching already but I looked up some more to hit more areas. I like the workout routine. Simple to follow. I purchased the smaller ...

Re: New to kayaking

Great advice. I am 5'10. So I think I can go a little shorter but definitely explore others at every opportunity. And being so new I have no idea about paddle size or shape yet. Just have to do what you say and try as many as I can.

Thank you!

Re: New to kayaking

Thank you both for your responses. I will start looking into the different equipment. Most of the paddling I have done before has been fairly local which you named, mulberry & buffalo, nothing crazy. I did just hear about another one, I believe it's Frog Bayou? Figure these will be good starts o...

New to kayaking

I am new to kayaking but I had previously owned a canoe for many years. Was told this is a good place to ask all my newbie questions, so here goes. I purchased a Dagger Blackwater 10.5 from Crane off this forum. Loving the boat. I do a lot of fishing so it is a very good platform for that, bu I am v...

Re: New to kayaking

Thank you very much! Only problem is that I'm a restaurant manager and I get very few weekends off. I will work on my schedule and get back to you ASAP if it will be possible. Thank you again.
