Pre-Liberty Bowl Paddle: Cadron on Saturday, Jan 2nd

Want to paddle before Arkansas paddles E. Carolina in the Liberty Bowl? 4-5 of us are meeting at the Cadron take-out at 10AM. The level should be near optimal. We want to get an early start so we can play all the features and still get done in time to watch the game. Dress warm. The temperature look...

Re: Saline Co. Considering Norrell for Recreational Releases

This guy wasn't seeking any assistance from the ACC. He mainly wanted information about levels and the sport of WW kayaking. He saw my phone number on a Norrell post on the message board and called me. I wasn't much help on the levels, but based on a PM from Lance, I think he (Lance) has the specifi...

Saline Co. Considering Norrell for Recreational Releases

I got a call from a guy who is working with a Saline County committee that is tasked with developing tourism for the county. He is exploring scheduled recreational releases of the Norrell Spillway. His idea is to install a gate over the current dam and stop all out flow during the week. Then, open t...

Re: Sat. Paddling after the game NWA

Rodney Center might be interested in joining you. I am posting for him since he does not have internet access. If you are still looking for partner to paddle Frog or something else after the game, you can call him at 479-too zero ate-3015. Your best bet is to call him by 10:15 or so. Otherwise, he m...

Calling All Engineers & Designers: Steam Dancer

I'm still on the email distribution list for Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech (ORGT), and I received the message below. I thought there might be some folks who browse this board who would be interested in the project... I could use some help. My watercraft won the 2008 Int’l Concept Boat Design Award...

Re: Anyone going to get some Norrell action tomorrow??

As of 2PM on Wed, it's too low, but it's raining in the area. We should have another report on Friday morning.

If it's there, I could leave Little Rock around lunch time if anyone wants to hit it.

Re: Gotta love the little things!

I agree! My 3 daughters love Deep Creek. On our trips to the Nanty area, we have to devote at least one day to tubing the creek. When we camp along the creek, they are in it almost all day, everyday. It has become a family favorite and tradition.

Re: Norrell Rash

As my "companion" alluded to (although I prefer the term "life partner"), I made a comment that may have jinxed the victim picture above...However, I will say the victim was trying to catch a small eddy in the middle of a drop that most would not have the cajones to even try for....

Norrell Video from 05/02/09

These are from last Saturday at what I think was an optimal level. First Rapid - Jim gets surfed before the main part of the drop, Duffy styles it, Rick does a 360 in the chute (who knew there was enough room for a boat to spin in there...good thing I wasn't in a creekboat) http://www.youtube.com/wa...

Norrell on Wed

For those of you in Central AR who can't miss work on Wed, a friend and I are considering going to Norrell after work. We could probably get there around 5:30 or so. We may not go if it's only the two of us, so post or call if you'll be there. If we know at least one other person is going to be ther...
