Re: Multi-day trips

I have done anywhere from 5 to 60 mile trips and have a 125 mi. buffalo river trip in the works ( Ponca to White River ). and so many things to see. Caves, waterfalls, log cabins are just a few. you can camp on any gravel bar or a...

Re: Good levels for Siloam Springs Park?

wow, I thought it was too low, and it wasn't low enough.
It is a nice park and I was glad to finally get to see it ( and not get shot at from the stories i've heard )
I'll have to try it again

Thanks for the info

Good levels for Siloam Springs Park?

I went for the 1st time last week when it was at 4 ft., which is low but still in the "green" on the ozark pages river level site. the 1st wave was too small and not surfable, the 2nd ledge., was a diagonal "wave" that just sends you down and off, didn't look like there was a 3rd...

Re: Looking for good Tandem locations

I like dam3 to spring river oaks on the Spring river, if your in one car, any of those campgrounds will shuttle you up for a fee. You'll have more places to go if you take two cars so you can run your own shuttle. where do you live? The upper Buffalo is a favorite of many, but usually too low this t...

Re: Kayak options for a large person

If you can..... paddle them and see which you like better. Both are fine brands, Most of these "top" brands are so close in performance and durability that it usually comes down to your personal preferences. You might like the seat better in one or like the cockpit size better on the other...

Howdy and welcome to the Ozarks. Here is a great web page: http://www.ozarkpages.com/cgi-bin/stages.pl?ST=level" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you will see all the Ar. river levels here and you can click on name for descriptions. Yes, most of our runs are rain dependent, bu...

No More Wave Sport in America

Bad News for you Wave Sport boaters. Parent company Confluence is stopping sales in North America and also ending the BomberGear brand all together. they will only sale wave's sport in europe. They say it's to focus on the Dagger brand. So get'em while you can, soon they will be collectors items. Th...

Re: Help fixing a hole in plastic canoe

That eventually happens on every boat like that. If possible, Get new risers and a new seat ( normal style ) and make it last while saving up for a royalex boat. What ever repair you make on this won't be permanent, so don't be disappointed when you have to do it again. I don't think anything works ...

Re: kayak paddle suggestions

Howdy Is this a nephew in law that you like? if so, I would look into Werner or AT Rec. paddles. (if not, a walmart paddle) :) JK Rec boats are wider needing a longer paddle, while WW paddles are shorter. WW paddles in a rec. boat cause you to have a higher stroke angle making paddle strokes to be a...

Re: Yeti coolers: worth the $ or hype?

If I was going to spend that much I would get a Orion Cooler made by Jackson Kayaks.
maybe even one that matched my boat.

Re: New members ACC, living in Bull Shoals

Howdy and welcome to the Ozarks! are any of those JK boats whitewater? or do you only paddle rec. boats? Soon our rivers will get too low and we go to the Spring river often. Good for WW or Rec. boats and can be as wild as mardi gras on holiday weekends. Your not far from the north fork of the white...
