FS Perception Overflow....New

I have a Perception Corsica Overflow proline for sale. This boat was purchased in 1997, and has never been in the water. I bought two, and my wife opted for a sit on top instead, so this kayak has been standing up in the living room until recently. I will include a sprayskirt, that came with it, in ...

Re: MULBERRY ACCESS LOCKOUT MEETING Thursday

The idea of closing "user made" and illegal atv trails is good, and the Big rocks look much better than fences or guard rails, but the real issue is a lack of enforcement in regards to these problems. They tried this same approach on the upper Cossatot river about 4 years ago. The big rock...

Re: ?s on Quachita from Acorn to Little Hope Road

Wow, has been many years since I've floated from Acorn down. I'm not sure on what the best gauge reading would be, but we used to always catch it after big rains, when it was visibly high enough to clear the shoal at whatever bridge we started at. These upper areas don't get many paddlers, be prepar...

Big Fork Creek

If you happen to be the person (s) that paddled Big Fork Creek in Polk county Sunday, I would be interested to know what you encountered. You can respond here, or PM me, or email me.....bozman@wildblue.net Thanks.

Re: Cossatot stickers FS

I still have plenty of these stickers, and these are a better quality than the very first ones. They are $3 each or 2 for $5 if I don't have to mail them. I will be happy to mail them @ $3 each. I also have tye dyed T shirts with the same logo on the front, and text on the back, for $25. If you are ...

Re: The '82 flood

I was going to AR Tech at the time too. I'm thinking, that's the flood where you had to use a canoe or wade waist deep to get into Turner dorm. People were paddling around a couple of dorms. We had a formal at LR and drove there on I-40, but had to detour part of the way back on 64, cause the inters...

Rain on the Tot

There was heavy rain falling on the upper Cossatot, when I left to come to work this morning (9 am), so the river will be rising. River is running, it's 65 degrees @ the end of Dec. Life is good, but sometimes work sucks. Have fun Ya'll.

Re: NWS River Gauges threatened by lack of funding

Ricky is right. I'm not sure about the other gauges, but the one on "Black Fork below BIG CREEK near Page OK" is very important, especially to us paddlers in western AR/east OK. If you have never floated Big Creek.....well I guess you've missed something (Big Creek = class 3+) or maybe mor...

Re: Well water, coliform. Educate me.

It is possible that the contamination actually came from water pumped into the well by the driller. Unless they have changed methods, drillers usually bring and pump some of their water into the well during the drilling process. I have seen well drillers pump water from creeks that they should have ...

Yes, it would probably be a good idea to contact someone before drivig down there. Just heard them asking one of the funeral homes for additional body bags.

Re: more bad news

From what I'm hearing on the scanner, those numbers will go up. Sounds like all but one road in the area, and several bridges are gone too. They are asking for people to stay away from the area. A really sad day. We only got about an inch of rain at Shady, but apparently the sky fell just east of he...

Re: Advice Needed

I'm pretty sure Walter said he would make the call by 8 pm tonite, concerning the Tot maiden voyage. It hasn't rained here yet, and knowing my luck lately, it probably won't till some time tonight. Keep your gear ready, check your email late tonight, and paddle where there's water  . My 2 cents.
