Re: Protecting the Buffalo
Halfton: Before stating my overall problem with your argument, I'd like to address a couple of issues with your first post on this thread. First, a CAFO can not be a single horse in a bare lot, and is unlikely to be a single chicken house. While a CAFO is subject to case by case determination, a med...

Re: USGS says fracking not affecting ground water in AR
@Danny - I have not seen Gasland. I haven't insinuated that I have seen it. The only one of us referencing a documentary made by someone pushing a viewpoint is you, and you have not brought any facts to this conversation. Like I said before, the truth is probably somewhere in between those two films...

Re: USGS says fracking not affecting ground water in AR
Nobody is talking about tearing them all down. I wasn't talking about them "not paying their fair share" or whatever other conclusions you want to jump to. To me it makes sense that they get some deferential treatment from the Feds being that they are a 5 billion dollar a year plus industr...

Re: USGS says fracking not affecting ground water in AR
His EPA that excludes fracking waste from the vast majority of CWA and CAA regulations? Really? The EPA is far less stringent in regards to O&G industry pollutants than they are in comparison to other sectors. Maybe the reason they O&G's are targeted is because, I don't know, they have a str...

Re: USGS says fracking not affecting ground water in AR
Not real sure where you're getting the impression that our President opposes natural gas/ fracking. The Keystone pipeline is a different deal. http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-01-29/obama-pushes-natural-gas-fracking-to-create-600-000-jobs.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return f...

Re: USGS says fracking not affecting ground water in AR
Here are a few highlights from a good link for this discussion. According to ADEQ records, 10% of RANDOMLY INSPECTED wells were cited for unauthorized discharges into the waters of the state between 2006-2010. Less than 1/6th of all wells were actually inspected over this time frame. (538/ 3,427). 5...

Re: USGS says fracking not affecting ground water in AR
and that's a really flippant attitude to have about one of the biggest environmental concerns of our time... especially from someone who should like the idea of being outside.

Re: USGS says fracking not affecting ground water in AR
Roger, Most of what you have on here is right, but I think it's important to point out how much the process has evolved in the last decade. While fracking was created in the 50's, it was not economically viable until recently for multiple reasons. One of the biggest being the recent development of h...

It's a large and located in Fayetteville. Says 100% nylon on the inner tag. Unfortunately not gore-tex.
