Re: Tent recommendations?
Thanks for the input. Sounds like lots of good tents out there as long as one doesn't go for the cheapest thing available.

Tent recommendations?
I'm going to purchase a 3 person tent for car camping and possibly canoe camping. (Using a Bell Yellowstone Solo) I have done some research online and was overwhelmed by the choices just at Campmor and REI. I have narrowed my focus to the Marmot Limelight 3, Eureka Mountain Pass 3 XLT, and the Eurek...

Recommended PFD?
I'm looking to get a more comfortable PFD and hope to get some suggestions for make and model. Will be for open boating on Class I and II rivers and some flatwater as well. Still learning, so not uncommon for me to take a swim. Primary user will be a 5'8" male, 200lbs, (wears a 44 Short suit co...

Minna,
Nice to know you are filling the void in your garage left by the Bell you sold me.
Good luck.

I would attend such a clinic if I'm able to make the Rendezous. Great idea.

Re: WTB: Bell Yellowstone (tandem or solo)
Thanks for the input. I've got a solo Yellowstone waiting for me to pick up. Dave, The Buffalo is the river I was thinking of paddling when I started my search for this Bell. It should handle the Ponca to Kyles Landing run a lot nicer than my Solo Plus. Not so sure about camping out of the canoe jus...

Re: WTB: Bell Yellowstone (tandem or solo)
3 weeks and no responses. Guess the folks who read this want to keep their Yellowstones.
Does anyone know someone ELSE that might have a Bell Yellowstone they might sell?

How long should crossbars be?
How long should the crossbars be on a roof rack to hold 2 canoes? Thinking of getting Yakima RailGrabs for a 2013 Rav4.
Thanks for your advice.

WTB: Bell Yellowstone (tandem or solo)
I would like to buy or swap for a Bell Yellowstone (solo or tandem) in good or better condition. Found a solo through paddling.net, but the gentleman lives about 1700 miles away in northwestern Montana. Time and expense of the trip alone is prohibitive. I have a Wenonah Solo Plus to swap, but that d...

Re: Will Buffalo be floatable on Saturday, March 24?
Thanks for the comments. It looks like the Ponca gauge is working again and has a reading of 9.73 and rising, at this time. I guess my question should be how long it takes for the Buffalo (at Ponca) to get to "optimal" levels once the rain stops and the river crests? The forecast I'm looki...

Will Buffalo be floatable on Saturday, March 24?
My brother and I were planning on floating from Ponca to Kyles Landing on Saturday. I'm in KS and have been watching the Weather Channel site for Ponca and the sites with the gauges. It would seem the Ponca gauge is out of action. I tried calling Buffalo Canoes but got the answering machine. I'm lea...

Re: GCI Outdoor SitBacker Canoe Seat ?
Just an update on my own question. Santa gave me a Sitbacker and last night I was making adjustments while in the canoe. Turns out the Sitbacker is too wide at the gunnels for the stern seat in a Wenonah Solo Plus. It is a tight fit on the bow seat, but plenty of room on the center seat. Glad I have...

Upper Buffalo, March 23 or 24th
Looks like my brother and I will be floating the Buffalo from Ponca or Steel Creek to Kyle's Landing on March 23 or 24th. Not camping, just coming down from Branson for a day on the river (weather and water levels permitting). Does anyone else have similar plans? What's the best way to set up a shut...
