Re: Rain all week

Met Amy from Conway at the Central chapter monthly meeting on Tuesday. They have a Buffalo trip planned for the 31st. Here is the information copied from their website: Saturday, May 31 Buffalo River Paddle: We will paddle the segment of the Buffalo River from Tyler Bend to Gilbert. Meet at 7:45 a.m...

Trip Report - Grassy Lake (Bell Slough)

Trip report – Grassy Lake (Bell Slough) 5/26/14 – Mike & Julie Tharp – Stan Gentle blackwater beginner paddle - longer than expected. We arrived at Palarm Creek parking area on time (9:00a) and waited until 9:10a for others to show. No takers. We drove to the put-in (the March 22nd Grassy Lake W...

Grassy Lake on Memorial Day

Following Stan's advice, we are planning on doing a Grassy Lake Trail paddle on Memorial Day. Have never been there but have reviewed the trip report from March 22nd. We understand it is an easy flat water 4.5 mile loop trail that will take 2 to 4 hours depending upon your curiosity and speed. We ar...

Re: easy flat water/black water paddling this weekend

Stan & Chris, thanks. Julie and I, weather permitting, will try the Grassy Lake trip on the 26th (Memorial Day). See the Paddling Trips section of the board for those that would like to join us. We will probably try to make the Remmel to Rockport trip the following Saturday (the 31st). We are re...

easy flat water/black water paddling this weekend

Looking for a 2 to 3 hour easy flat water or black water paddle Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday within an easy drive from Little Rock.

Trying to tune up for Rec School.

Any suggestions for these beginners?

Re: Dragover+ section on Saturday April 12th

Jim, thanks for the info. We're flat water paddlers, new river paddling. We've done Remmel to Rockport and Baker's Ford to Gilbert on the Buffalo. The class II at Dragover sounds like it might be a little rough for us just yet. We are signed up for Rec School though. Hope you have a great Saturday.

Re: Dragover+ section on Saturday April 12th

Out of curiosity, where and on what river is Dragover?

What is the level of difficulty?

Sorry for my ignorance.

Julie and I are signed up for tandem canoe.

Looking forward to it.

Missed it last year because we did not get our registration in before it filled up.

open boat gel-coat work

Folks, after reading up on gel-coat work (nick, scratch, scrape and gouge repair) I have come to the conclusion that I would like to find someone who is good at, and willing to do, that type of work and is reasonably affordable. The boat needing the work is a 17' Old Town Canadienne Kevlar (white) i...

1967 Old Town wood canoe for sale - pictures added

I came across a pleasant fellow with this canoe in Maumelle and asked if he wanted it posted on our board. I've paddled it and it handles nicely. Canoe info: Old Town wooden canoe 1967 trappers model which is fiberglass covered. One owner garage kept in very good condition. Includes two original Old...
