Re: SW AR, NE TX Floating
Dax, Have floated both the Sulphur and the Red in the Texarkana area. The Sulphur is certainly flat water but at 13000 cfs release it was a good float. Damsite to Highway 237. The Red is, as one of the other fellows said, a flat water stream also. Catch it at 7000 or better with a wind out of the no...

Re: A Cossatot Race!
Been a race on the Cossatot before. Back in the 70's. Between Mize Crossing and 50000 Road. Short race, canoes, not too many rapid, and just a fun event. One team even dressed as Indians. Can't remember any race upstream from there.

Re: Boundary Waters
Mike, I guided up in Canada but I generally go to an area a little further north and a little further west than the Boundary Waters. The area I go to is around Bissett, Manitoba. Fishing is better, people are fewer, and it reminds me of the Boundary Waters some years back. If you go this year and yo...

Canoeing in Montana
September 8th four others and myself are going out to Montana to do a five day float on the Bitterroot River over in the wester part of the state. We need one more person who would like to experience a short trip in some beautiful settings. The five that are going come from Toledo (Ohio), Galveston ...

Re: Canoeing the Glover
Sunday the 24th the Glover was running at 201 cfs. Good canoeing but not too good for kayaks or rafts. Very isolated stream. If you have never canoed this one I recommend it. Mt. Fork the 21st of June.

Elk River Report
This would be the Elk River over in Tennessee and not the one up in Missouri. Floated the Elk with Rob this past Saturday and Sunday. Tennessee has had a ton of rain and the rivers proved that out. However, the river is a safe river as there are no rapids. But it does have a really good current. One...

Elk River, Tennessee
Sure could use some rain down in this part of the state. Rather dry. Rivers are low. Wanted to go to the Brazos the week-end of the 14th and 15th but dragging canoes isn't a lot of fun. I will go to the Red next Sunday for a one day run. I wouldn't mind someone floating with me from the highway brid...

Re: Floating the Red
Mikeark, your 12' footer shouldn't be a problem. Considering this is only a 12 or 13 mile float it is a day trip. Where would you be coming in from? And would it just be you?
