Re: Apt. Rental Needed

I think you met (or re-met) my wife the other day. She said you all sat down and connected the dots. Bayou Meto is part of the Urban Canoe Trail System (or whatever AGFC calls them these days). The put in is off of Main street, west of town. Take out is directly across the road from Reeds' Bridge ba...

Re: Apt. Rental Needed

Chapel Ridge in Jax, Huh?

Did you talk to a cute brunette at the front desk while you filled out your lease?

Next time you're in there, ask her about her husband.

I think I may have a new paddling buddy who lives just down the road! :yahoo:

Re: bilge pump: need wire connection tips

Another vote for solder and shrink-tubing! By far, the best and most reliable connection method for a mobile environment. This coming from 10 years of installing / maintaining emergency comm equipment in vehicles. I also learned to make SURE to slide the tubing down the wire BEFORE soldering the two...

Re: Wavesport Godzilla

I am REALLY interested in this boat for my oldest daughter, but I can't drop a bill on it this instant. Is there any chance we can work something out? Contact me at p8ntball66(at)yahoodotcom if there is.

:crossed: :crossed: :crossed:

Thanks!

Re: #Occupy the river

I propose an "Occupy the River" float to show solidarity with Occupy's environmental concerns. Put in at Bruns and float to the Clinton Library....anyone second that? I think an "A" frame sign would fit and ride nicely in my canoe....dunno about you 'yakkers out there.... Peace a...

Re: Good Ole Local Swimmin Holes???

Took a day trip out to Lake Sylvia Saturday. What a awesome place! I have been through a few times before, but this was the first stop-and-hang opportunity. The kids LOVED the swimming area, I loved the fishing and paddling. The dam area is particularly impressive. And considering the heat and it's ...

Hwy 285 near Damascus looks promising. Maybe if a can get the wife n kids moving today we will make the trip and check it out. Thanks!

Re: Good Ole Local Swimmin Holes???

Lake Beaverfork is a beautiful little lake. However, last time I went it seemed a little overpopulated and generally busy, with boats fresh out of last years' storage being revved up to impress this years' girlfriend.... Maybe it's calmed down by now since the schools are out for the summer and all ...

Re: Saturday

The wife and I will not be able to make it. Thanks again for all the info concerning access points and camping. It will be put to good use in the future, as I plan to make the Saline my river of choice for introducing the wife and kids to floating and riverside camping this summer. I feel I should a...

Good Ole Local Swimmin Holes???

I am on a quest to find some good ole local swimming holes to take the wife n kids this summer. I am tired of the Cholrine stinging my baby girls' eyes, plus you just don't find many crawdads, tadpoles, minners or skippin rocks at the neighborhood pools 'round here! The authorities also tend look do...
