Re: Where to Float in mid August
Hey there. Welcome to Arkansas. As you noted August is about as bad as it gets for paddling in the state. The Spring River in North Central Arkansas near Hardy might be your only naturally flowing stream that is generally considered a float stream. Otherwise, you’re going to need to look for dam con...

Re: Cadron Creek Access
Hey Mike. You can still park at the bridge and drag down the hill. CCO is likely an option too if you want to add a 1/2 mile. Good to see you getting out!

Re: Intro and Opinions Requested...
By the way..... The last time I used Crocketts I paid with a credit card over the phone and arranged all shuttle details over the phone. I drove straight to the put-in, hid a key at a predetermined spot and my vehicle was waiting for me at the takeout 3 days later. I never laid eyes on anyone from C...

Re: Intro and Opinions Requested...
The 2 or 3 weeks before and after Easter are pretty good bets. The lower Buffalo is ideal for what you describe. launch at Tyler Bend and camp on the river. Lots of options. Take out at Rush. Have a plan B however in case of high water. (Low water should not be a problem at that time of year) Often ...

Re: Navigable vs Non-Navigable
That is a question with an answer subject to considerable debate. In the 1980 State v McIlroy case, the state ultimately was able to prove that the Mulberry River in NW Arkansas was in fact a "navigable stream" and not private property. The stream bank on the other hand, down to a point, (...

Re: Upper Little Missouri (Albert Pike to Hwy 84
My gut says to steer clear of the Little Mo unless you have many, many trips on class II+ under your belt. It is class II+ and III and typically is not runnable until we have a lot of rain. Need about 3.8 to about 5 feet on the USGS gage. Your window of opportunity will be small too as it drains off...

It looks to be a duel use device. 1. Storage. 2. Water displacement, similar to an airbag but solid.

Re: Safety Tubing Remmel Dam?
It is fine. At normal summertime releases tubing is excellent. You should encounter only one real rapid. It is right at the end of the run, (assuming you take out at the Rockport WW Park which most people do). Just stay about 10 to 20 feet off the left bank as you are heading downstream and you will...
