Wetsuit vs drysuit
I was just wondering what is the general opinion on which is better for winter in Arkansas rivers. I like my fullbody wetsuit for most of the time when the water is cold. I haven't tried much in the way of drysuits, but the couple I tried on seemed kind of restrictive. I have also heard that the wet...

Canoe seats
Does anyone know if I will be facing any problems trying to replace my seats in my Pelican canoe with aftermarket seats. My concern is the stiffing bar that runs me the length of the canoe under the seats. With the aftermarket seats there will be nothing to hold it in place. Will it make much of a d...

Re: Canoe Camping
I agree with Jim on the upper Ouachita, but there is some private land along the river banks. There are 5 or 6 float camps between Pine Ridge and the lake and several outfitters along the river offering camping. Check with the forest service and they have maps of all the old FS float camps. The wate...

Re: Join us on the Ouachita River!
I put about 58 miles of floating on the upper Ouachita over the last month, wish I could be there right now; but I am overseas on business for 3 more weeks. Will be hitting it some when I get back if that flow is any good.

Re: Current River end of June
Thank for the input guys. I can go anytime I want during the end of June / first part of July. Got 20 days of nothing of canoeing to do as long as I can find some good water somewhere. When I go it will be for at least 2 days on on the river, maybe 3 or 4. I hear that it usually has good flow when m...

Re: Mulberry Friday?
Was floating up there Monday and Tuesday. The water level was 2.9 Monday and 2.7 Tuesday; and the water was at a great level. If it will get up to around 3 by Saturday I plan on floating it again on Saturday. Did Redding to Turner Bend on Monday and Wolf Pen to Redding Tuesday.
