Re: Buffalo is up - any interest in paddling

A great day on one of the most beautiful sections of our national river. Thanks for organizing, Henry!

I don't know how others may feel, but this is heartbreaking.

Either the Admins removed the post or he self-censored himself and deleted his post. It's very disappointing when a discussion based on facts resorts to ad hominem attacks.

Re: Illinois Hogeye to Prarie Grove

Thanks, Paddledog. I waved at a couple crossing the slab bridge on Kinzer and imagined them to live at the castle at the bend in the river. And I chatted with some locals at the Orr Bridge. And I did the obligatory trash pickup at the gravel beach at Orr Bridge. It was a little trashed, but not too ...

Re: Illinois Hogeye to Prarie Grove

Re: Illinois Hogeye to Prarie Grove

Thanks, Eli. Looks like everything dropped out. I'll go check out the access points today including the takeout on Orr Road. It's been years since I've seen them.

Re: Illinois Hogeye to Prarie Grove

The traditional put in is right there a few yards behind the Hogeye mall at the bridge. Re: For Sale: Wave Sport Project X48 $425 NEW PRICE

I'm 150 lbs. and 5'-8 1/2" tall with a 32" inseam and it fits me like a glove. I think the critical dimension is the inseam or hip to foot dimension. And there's some adjustment. I haven't sold it and you're welcome to try it. I've got too many boats and just need to pare down. I'm in NWAr...

Re: Beer Tipper, She's Back

It's mostly a string of drops similar to Frog Bayou Falls. No major contours cross the main channel. There are hollows with waterfalls but not floatable. Since waterfall hunting was done hiking upstream from the main road crossing, not sure about boat put in access. Might be worth parking and lookin...

We've creekwhacked (hiked) it. A friend's photo of Frog Bayou Falls shows up on Google Map.

Re: Beer Tipper, She's Back

That's great! Yes, for sure there was only one hole for a while with a lot of flow going off through the shrubs on river right. Good news.
