Re: NW Chapter Eagle Float 1-21-2012
Well the weather seemed cold Saturday morning but as we got to the river the sun came out and made it great weather to be on the river! So much so we decided to lengthen the trip! We even played in the only "rapid" on the White at Spider Creek and spotted eagles which is an improvemet from...

Re: WTT: Mohawk Rodeo for creek boat (kayak)
Thanks Paul! I definitely enjoy open boating, just need a boat that's a little more forgiving. Something like an outrage. I'll bring it to the Jones Center sessions, I won't be paddling the rodeo in this weather without a full drysuit!

WTT: Mohawk Rodeo for creek boat (kayak) Traded!
Looking to trade a used purple Mohawk Rodeo for a used creek boat. Bought the canoe over the summer and it is too small/manueverable for my skill set. It is well used but normal wear and tear, outfitted minus the float bags. Looking to trade for a newer model creek boat that's been used and can fit ...

Re: Wister Wave
Thanks Matt, I guess I'll just keep an eye on the gauges! Is 6500 cfs a good level for it or should there be a little more water before driving down to it? Also would you be interested in a Wednesday paddle if it does get bigger?

Re: Whos interested in a Whitewater feature on the White Riv
I'm glad to see so many people interested in this project! One of our next steps should be finding someone with the experience and knowledge in these types of projects. Roy Lancaster is this person. He happens to be a club member and plans to attend the NW chapter meeting Tuesday to give his input w...

Re: Wister Wave
Hey, really wanting to run Wister for the first time, do you think it will be running still by next Wednesday? Unfortunately that is my only spare time but just looking for a little more beta. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Re: new play spot ? maybe!
Also the biologist mentioned that is creating the plans for TU's project will be at their next meeting on December 6th. This would be a great opportunity to find out what process needs to be taken. For more information on the meeting just pm me!

Re: new play spot ? maybe!
It sounds as if we need a summit for this to develop a plan, an inventory of resources as well as establishing an estimated cost to organize fund raising. It seems this project has quite a bit of support from other organizations. I received an email from Marc Thompson who is a Trout Unlimited board ...

Re: new play spot ? maybe!
The meeting went okay. Some of the members were receptive to the idea but I agree with Bob that the game and fish commission are who we need to go to next. Also figuring out what resources we can offer. As long as the wave is conservation minded we have a chance. Its time to get fired up about this....

Re: new play spot ? maybe!
Of course this is all speculation at this point but the oppurtunity is there. We have time to gather our resources and form a collaboration with TU in creating this dual purpose recreation area on the white river (Their next meeting is Nov. 1st at Whole Hog in Fayetteville) Obviously there are small...

Re: new play spot ? maybe!
Minimal conflict doesnt mean conflict doesn't exist. Though as Bob has pointed out TU actually "likes" the ACC. Cooperation between both TU and the ACC wouldn't be impossible as both share common ground: members would rather be cleaning up a river rather than being at their day job. Yes pr...
