FYI Buffalo River Clabber Creek Shoal

We put in Saturday morning right behind a large group. From what they told us they had a lot of trouble on Clabber Shoal and even lost a boat. Two of the supposedly backed out of trip all together and walked back. We had 4 adults and a 5 year old with us (2 canoes and small Jon boat). I found a back...

Lost Red Samsung Camera Big Piney 3-13-16

Lost a small waterproof Samsung camera 3-13-2016. It was attached to head strap. ? Camera may not be any good but id like to try and salvage the 3-4 videos on the card if its found. It was lost on the 2nd ledge below Helton's. That would be the big ledge with the big wave.

Plans are to be at Longpool around 10:00. Will leave Longpool at 10:20 headed to Heltons. I have a trailer that hauls 6 canoes plus 4-6 playboats or yaks in the bottom. Honda Pilot seats 8 got 6 open seats.

Big Piney Heltons-Longpool 5-23-15

Wife and I are looking at floating tomorrow. We have never been to Heltons. What do we need to do not do? Can you leave a vehicle at Heltons? I can shuttle several canoes and other boats. Not sure on a time for departure at Longpool. Call or text if you are intersted in shuttle or want to answer a q...

Re: Need Advice- Kayaks for 2 Young Girls

I am possibly going after 3 of these, Pelican Pursuit 80 DLX 8' Kayak. We have 3 of our oldest girls wanting one now instead of 2! They have excellent reviews and several reviews on kids as young as 7! Excellent price! They do lack tracking from what I gather but I may add a rudder/fin depending on ...

Re: Camping at Woolum

Turn in to the left before you reach the parking area and go down that road. There are a couple of spots with access to the river on that road that are used by horse riding groups. They are not exactly on the river but are shaded. Might even find a spot down on the big gravel bar if you go upstream...

Camping at Woolum

I want to take the family and camp at Woolum on Buffalo Memorial weekend. I know there's a lot of open space. Is there good shaded campsites close to river? I haven't been there in a while, may just take a drive this weekend and scout.

Re: Trip Report!-Middle Fork Shirley-Sandiff Access

Thanks for the report. How was the fishing? Not much fishing by me. We were planning on fishing the last pool and shoal. We didn’t have time. My son did fish that stretch while we were paddling and caught a nice white and Kentucky bass. There were so many boats in the lake pool it was unreal the wh...
