Re: Green River
Thanks for all the replies especially the trip report. It looks like no matter what we choose it will be fun. I don't think the flat water will be bad as long as there is some current. I was reading about sometimes the wind is really bad in the canyons. It is a little demoralizing going the wrong wa...

Green River
My wife and I are headed out west at the end of September to do the Hermit-Tonto-Bright Angel Grand Canyon hike. I was looking at possibly bringing the canoe and possibly to a few days on the Green River. The wife wants to bring the dog, so it narrows down a lot of our choices. Already have to board...

Re: Anyone paddle the St. Francis River?
Thanks for the replies. We may have to try to hit it this year. From some of the photos and videos, it looks a little rougher than what we have paddled so far. The roughest water that we have paddled has been the Little Piney at 4ft on the Longpool gauge. Might put some more scratches on the old buf...

Tandem Canoe on the Cossatot
Anybody run a tandem canoe down the Cossatot? What about the falls? All I can find are videos and pictures of kayaks.

Re: Buffy river, Rush to the end. How long?
I would say three days would be a relaxing float. We went from Buffalo Point to Shipps Ferry in three days. The water level was very low, and I paddled pretty much the whole time. We only went probably two miles the first day before setting up camp because we didn't get on the river until 4pm. We we...

Re: Mill Bridge on the Cadron - a good put in???
The southwest side of the bridge has a picnic like area. The gate said use by permission only. I don't know who owns it, or I would probably offer some time or money to use it. The northwest side is a shooting club or something now.

Re: Mill Bridge on the Cadron - a good put in???
About 13.7 miles... It is weird because the Arkansas map shows the bridge as a launch site. It is easier than the the Pinnacle bridge, but not as good as the 65 and the 285. The best part is the section from pinnacle to 65, but it is so short. The other sections are nice and have some rapids, but se...

Re: Cadron Creek info, please
Today, we went from the Mill Bridge Road to Highway 65. It took right at 4 hours for about 13.5 miles. We had to portage around a small log jam just before the Pinnacle Springs bridge. The rest of the creek was free from problems. It did have a few flat spots, but there was some nice scenery. If you...

Re: Need Suggestions for October Canoe/Camping Trip
My wife and I did the Buffalo Point to Ships Ferry (5 miles down the White River) 9/26/10-9/28/10 . We had an enjoyable trip, but I wouldn't want to go with the water level lower than when we went. I had to get out several times. We were paddling a 16' canoe with supplies, but we still could go thro...
