Re: Wetsuit vs drysuit
Gortex is the best. But you can get the same suit with drysocks cheaper if look under their DRYSUIT SALE KOKATAT DRYSUIT BARGAINS.

Yep, to what Cowper said. Kayak Academy is having a sale on Kokatat drysuits. I'm 6' 200# and ordered a XL Kokatat GFER. Should get it in next week. Now I need to go to OOO and get me some of those 5.10 water tennies.

Re: River Gages on the Chopping Block!
Was told that USGS and US Army Corps of Eng. have reshuffle the money cards and WE were not going to lose any any gages. What does WE mean? Just the Corps gages or all the gages? Guess I should've asked. I don't think the Boxely or the Richland gage are in the Coprs. budget. Stay Tuned :box:

Re: New Visual gauge at Richland putin
Sounds like you have it attach to a good concrete surface. That gage should last for years. I put one up along time ago on lower richland for the Wood brothers but the first big flood wash it out.

Re: River Gages on the Chopping Block!
Yep I know those guys. The Tin Man (gil) knows more about the Corps. budget than me. I'm just a streamgager. USGS does a great job & they give alot of different agencys data that they need. If the data helps the Corps accomplish its mission they fund USGS to maintain the gage. Take Lock & Da...

Re: River Gages on the Chopping Block!
Have you called the Little Rock District and asked them why Bayou DeView was cut?

Re: River Gages on the Chopping Block!
All the gages you listed that run into the Arkansas and White are used by the Little Rock District. If USGS were to drop these gages I think my office would ask me to maintain them. The eastern part of arkansas is ran by another district. Hell, DeGray, Ouachita, ect are ran out of Vicksburg Dictrict ...

Re: River Gages on the Chopping Block!
Wow! All of this is news to me. L&D 13 is one of my gages. We pay USGS to take discharge measurements there. The Corps also pays USGS so much a year (insurt dollar figure here) to maintain the gages that run into the Arkansas and White rivers. I don't see these gages being chopped because the Co...

Re: Dierks Update
Yep, Dierks went down wednesday night during the storms. Got it back up yesterday @ 1300. Dierks T/W has a high data rate transmitter in it that transmits stage and water temp @ 00:24:50 every hour. Lighting and analog temp probes do not play very well with each other. Last spring I disconnected all...

Re: Spring River
Will this help or hurt the economy in Fulton County? Would hate to see some of the outfitters go out of busness because of this.
