I guess I am confused. Hazen is not near Bayou Deview. Are we going to Wattensaw? That was to have been an overnight trip.

Will there be a lot of wading and mud? In short, do I need muck boots?

Re: Another Video, the "Mother" Big Piney Creek
Now would be a good time to go in there with some cement and fill in that left side. Then move some rocks around, dig it out and see if you can make a nice hydraulic. I'm sure nobody would mind. Two concepts come to mind on that "idea" "Take only pictures, leave only footprints"...

Bell Yellowstone flotation
Debating installing flotation for a Bell Yellowstone solo boat I have acquired.
Do I want to drill holes for the lacing or use the eye and rivet approach?
Are any of the screw-on/rivet-on eyes better than others?

Re: Curious about Eureka Timberline 4 or 6 tents
I had the Timberline 6 some years ago when I was going to canoe races etc with wife and daughter. It is a bit heavy for canoe camping and would be hard to set up by 1 person. It was roomy and a tall guy could stand up. :canoe: However, like all Eureka tents, you can get parts and repairs easily. I h...

Re: WTB: tandem canoe
The Old Town Tripper is considered by many to be the finest camping/all purpose canoe ever made. It'll hold a ton of gear, is stable, but will handle most whitewater with ease. I used to stand up in mine to fly fish. Worst dumba** thing I ever did was sell it. It was THE boat Harold and Margaret Hed...

Re: Need info on tandem canoe for Buffalo overnighters
I had an 17' Old Town Tripper which I sold..a decision I have always regretted. It handled a ton of gear and would easily navigate Class 11-11 water. I fully intend to replace it one day. A great classic expedition boat!

45 years later
Yep..45 years was before most of you were born. In 1963 I was a wildlife biology freshman at Arkansas Tech and some of us started a club. ( I changed schools and majors after soph year) The only river runner I knew was Steve Wilson from Batesville. (Steve later became director of the Arkansas Game a...
