Richard, just sand the area down good & spray them with some good quality polyurethane that was probably the original finish. The folks at the Haynes Hardware there on Morningside can take care of what you need. Linseed oil will soak in, not put a hard finish on it.

Jim, so far so good. Putting on lots of light coats & it is staying clear. I'm going to get another can tomorrow & put some more layers on.

Richard, from the time we've spent together I think the "Frog Tog" rain suit outfits will fit your needs just fine. They don't cost that much & are breathable.

Flex Seal as Seen on TV
Has anyone tried this on an old royalex canoe? I think I'm going to give it a try on a small area that doesn't seem to leak, but just want to be sure. I may also coat the inside of the old girl up to the water level just to be sure.

I used 3/4 by 8/32 self tapping screws & went up from the bottom. Nothing to drill or stick out or snag on anything.
