Remembering Zuli

Those of you who know Diane and I also know our dogs. Our fine pup Zuli died Sunday and I wanted to share my blog post with those who knew her:

Re: Pogies, Gloves or Mittens?

Follow ScottH's advice; glove right hand, pogie left. He learned that set-up many years ago from a sage old boater.

As I recall Dave turned 70 while on the Canyon with us 3 years ago. Tough guy!

Re: dave reid

Horn is one of the more intimidating rapids one the Canyon to my memory. Rafts have to pick their line carefully and even then it can be a luck- of-the-draw deal. Dave did the Canyon with us a years back and saw one of our oarsmen get tossed from his rig there as he struck the wall.

Re: Decent Canned Beer in the Rock?

Colonial in Little Rock and Springhill in North Little Rock are our favorite stores for obtaining nice beer in cans and nice beer in general. Oasis and Ranger are usually available in cans at both stores. Nothing beats Modus Hoperandi from Ska Brewery in Durango for a nice IPA in a can, though. Not ...

Re: Tot Friday or Sat?

This is what I've used. I had confused it with another product. Nixwax makes a wash-in product, which I haven't used, but I've had success with their other stuff. We thoroughly enjoyed the day! I was tired to the core but managed to drag myself out for 55 miles on the bike today. Whew! The glider on...

Re: People Going to Beech Creek tomorrow.

I read this with a lot of interest. I'm an old school boater and have had the opportunity to do Beech. In our case, the "leader" was sketchy and my partner and I had to pick our way down without much guidance. I've also hooked up with folks at the put-in only to find that they were not up ...

Re: smallmouth fishing on Richland ?

Lower Richland is also about the only place I've seen rattlers, though they're pretty shy. Make a little noise and be careful where you put your hands and feet. Good fishing in there.

Re: Ozark Whitewater Hall of Fame

Ok, I've been drawn out! Diane was reading this thread and proudly noted the early mention of the illustrious Doobie Brothers (not the band)*. I fell off my bicycle and have been on injured reserve, but please continue to count me as being among the active HOF'ers! *tip of the hat to William "n...

Re: Who is off tomorrow in NWA?

This water is just about to get to me! Between drought and other interests, I haven't been in my boat. Now, things are rockin' and I'm still on the disable list after a bike crash a couple of months ago. It is, indeed, adding insult to injury!
