Any spots left open in the Recreational Paddling School
Originally was passing on the school because of another trip, but that got cancelled. A friend was also interested so it looks like it might be a possibility if there are still openings. Is there somewhere I can check the status or do I just send in a registration and wait to see if I made it. Mark

Coming through Arkansas
I will be coming through Arkansas on May 5 -9 after a week on the Current River in Missouri. Was thinking of doing middle or lower Buffalo (looking for flatwater up to Class II). Even though its mid-week, are there any trips scheduled on Buffalo or other rivers suitable for a relatively inexperience...

Re: Looking for long slow pools.
Thanks Richard, I would say its a 99% chance that I would try to paddle on the Buffalo if I make the trip to Missouri. I am up for any of the simpler sections if we can get together for a shuttle. Rush looked like the best choice for upstream and back if I was solo. I really enjoyed the Woolum to Ty...

Re: Looking for long slow pools.
Thanks for the ideas. I will do a little research on those areas so I am better prepared before coming up. When it gets closer to trip time and I have a more definite schedule I will post again to check on conditions and to see who might be available to join me.

Looking for long slow pools.
I am looking for some slow current river sections where I could paddle upstream 4-8 mile and then turn around and come back. I am going to be solo on the way to/from Missouri from Texas around the end of April/beginning of May. I will be paddling a Wenonah Argosy double-blading upstream and single-b...

Re: NW Arkansas paddling spots?
How about the Illinois River over in Oklahoma? Seems like there are some outfitters pretty near Fayetteville. I have not paddled it but did run across info when I was looking to paddle in that area.
Can any of you comment on its suitability for them.

Re: Introductory Canoeing Classes
Thanks for the information. I will keep checking in on the Arkansas Canoe Club website as time gets closer for that spring mild-witewater class. I will also check out the Ozark Society site. I am pretty far away in Corpus Christi. However, I could combine a trip to Shreveport with some time at Caddo...

Introductory Canoeing Classes
Are there any symposiums/events closer to Texas than the Midwest Freestyle Symposium in Ohio where I could take some basic canoeing classes. I am interested in beginners classes for soloing on flatwater and Class I/II rivers. I have done about 20 days of flatwater and 12 days of class I/II river tri...
