Re: HELLO ZACH RAPID ON ANGLING CREEK

Actually, my husband Joe, and Duffy got a first D on that years ago :-) They named the first one Bathtub Falls, at the right level the second stairstep isn't a problem b/c u boof then reconnect on the downhill side of that ledge. The second good drop is called Nasty Ninety Falls and was their favori...

Re: A Special Day on Richland

Congratulations Hunter!! Joe and I knew you'd style it. I remember the days when we used to match each other roll for roll... Hunter would say," C'mon Amy, I'll do one if you do one!" You always had a "textbook" roll, that I took note of. Now you are firin' it up! Way to go litt...

Re: Beech Creek May 2, 2009

I have heard a lot about Beech Creek. How long and intense, but yet extremely beautiful it is. It has no warm up (in fact the 1st drop :hammer: me), and actually gets progressively harder for three-quarters of the run. With the leaves now fully blown, visibility was very low until we hit Beech Prop...

Re: Paddling Legend Passes - Article

yep, can't believe Lars is gone... after all Joe's reading about his adventures we thought he was immortal for sure. We thought it was really cool that Richard Montgomery compared Lar's death to the way he ran rapids, ever so graceful even in the worst of situations If anything can be gotten from t...

Re: Richland road blocked by trees

Amy and I are down fore some lumberjackin this weekend.Im thinkin of finishing up richland on Sat. then sunday maybe clearing barberry since its pretty short and hopefully easy to cut on b/c of its steep bedrock characteristics. However i would also be down for going up to the gorge on richland to fi...

Re: Maybe a novice on the Mulberry....

Im with Tris get your paddle on! A few short years ago Amy and I took our first "boats out on the mulberry. We just couldnt wait to see what was around every bend! Our boats were 11 foot rec. boats which are hardly appropriate for whitewater. We also had no experience in kayaks on water wh...

Re: Ice and Freezing Rain

What up BP? On Wed. Tracy,Chuck,Kyle, and I rallied north only to get shutdown on everything we tried to get on! We ended up doing upper spadra and horsehead spillway, but thats about all we could get to given the amount of trees that were down.we are thinking of going into richland tomorrow a.m. and...

Re: Richland tomorrow morning..

Yo we tried to run the steepies in newton co. today and got shutdown on everything. :( Not b/c of ice but b/c of tons of downed trees. We wiffed on all the eflb steepies, richland, even graves and the piney area are horribly screwed up right now. I would imagine w/ a team of determined lumberjacks, ...

Re: hot damn thats a nice boat...

Big Daddy D said "In a paddling world that Jackson is taking over, Wavesport is trying to re-establish itself as 'The" innovation leader." I will have to argue that this is not about marketing. I met Bryan Kirk this summer out west and he was certainly in love w/ the composite project...

Re: Trace creek?

Hey Jack, If your lookin for something cool to run in the area, by far the coolest creek in those parts is Angling creek! I 1st d'ed it last season w/ Duffy after a 2-3 inch rain.Main attraction is 3 major bedrock drops. Pic of 1st one is attached.2nd large drop is a very technical double 90 degree ...

Re: Hey Creekers

Hey Randy, I had read the article previously and actually met Darren McQuoid(?)while in Cali this summer and yes he was "testing" the hero w/ his team of JK boaters on south silver. While Im sure it may be fun, I must say the new "spudlike rivercreekers w/ playboat hulls niche" a...

Re: Hey Creekers

For my 1st creeker I got a jefe grande last year. I was running good ozark creeks at the first of the season (Richland,Dry,Beech, etc) and South Silver in Cali by the end of the season. It also treated me well on big water runs(Cal Salmon, Gauley etc.)Most of my homies paddle & rave about the Noma...
