Re: Used canoes and rafts for sale
That appears to be the case--looks like the Buffalos are gone. The boats we have left are tandem Old Town Kineo 158s, which have proven to be superior for the whitewater of the Mulberry.

Looks like we've sold all the $100-$200 canoes. We still have quite a few good boats in the $200-$400 range. Call ahead at 479-667-4066

From Lewis' cabin near the confluence of Indian Creek and the Big Mulberry (which was running about 10 feet), we tossed a coupl...

Re: Used canoes and rafts for sale
No worries. Glad you found something you can enjoy.
Yesterday we sold an Old Town canoe to a nice couple for $100. They made a successful voyage from High Bank to Byrd's and headed home happy (and dry) with a good boat strapped on top. This is what we like to see.
Adopt a canoe!

Re: Used canoes and rafts for sale
Apologies for the missed calls. It's been crazy here the past few days (spring break + good water + warm weather =
). We thought all calls were returned--will check messages again in the a.m.
Thanks for your interest!

Used canoes and rafts for sale
Byrd's is updating the 2012 rental fleet and has a number of used Buffalo and Old Town tandem canoes for sale. Prices range from $100 to $400 per boat, depending on condition. There's also a well used 8-person Star raft for sale. It's still a floater but could use some handiwork in a few places. A f...

Re: Lower Mulberry - fines for going around gate
Sometimes roads are closed to allow the building of new roads in other areas. The gate may be in place to allow equal or lesser distances of roads to be built elsewhere in the forest with no cumulative mileage gain.

Re: CONSERVATION ALERT--Richland Creek--Bearcat Hollow Phase
Something interesting from the Bearcat II Proposal comes from a study cited as supporting material within the EA. The paper, titled Historic fire regime dynamics and forcing factors in the Boston Mountains, Arkansas, USA , shows no record of fire at the Falling Water study site before the early 1800...

Re: Aerial photos presentation
This is really breathtaking work, Dan. I love how Arkansas becomes exotic if you see it right. To me your mountain shots look like Colorado.
I’ve got camera and airplane questions. Please see PM.

Aw shucks, ya'll.
Thanks!
Dave, I used two point and shoots - Kodak's Z740 and Cannon's SX20. I'm dreaming of upgrading to an inexpensive SLR. Any recommendations?
