Re: Need feedback: tents and morning fog/heavy dew
Tents need to be absolutely stored hung and stretched. They can even be stored loosely piled up in a corner somewhere. But store them compressed and their shelf life will be greatly reduced and that is the fastest way to ruin a tent I have found. As Dave mentioned, their coatings will adhere to itse...

Re: Inter-Chapter Boatball Pics
The first rule of shooting "ball" oriented sports is "get the ball in the shot"!
These are very cool, kru1! Well done!
Looks to me like I would have to proclaim the ACC as the Winner of the first-ever Inter-Chapter Boat Ball Tournament!

Re: OT: Janet Napolitano Protest Monday, State House Convent
Is it okay to post “OT” up front and bring your non-boating thread? Yes. But if your post is 100% political, expect to be made fun of - or worse have your entire thread (gasp!) moderated. :wht: Got it (well, except for the 100% political statements that are made on here about the all-important cons...

Re: OT: Janet Napolitano Protest Monday, State House Convent
I‘m not so sure what jumping into a lake and swimming across it has to do with boating either. With the possible exception that a “kayak” was actually mentioned in the thread as well as a “lifejacket program”. I would never have known this if it hadn’t been posted here. Nor did I see any relevance w...

Re: Video Editing
You don’t give many specifics Laramy, without which, I can’t be of much help. I may not be of much help anyway, but I’ll try! For starters try editing in iMovie, save the project, then burn from iDVD. Import the movie from iDVD rather than exporting from iMovie. There is any number of possibilities/...

Re: Extra Large helmet?
If you paddle a kayak on a river and wear a skirt, regardless of the severity or lack thereof of the water you are on, you should wear a helmet. Period. This is not only accepted safe practice, but common sense. Sadly, a lot of folks that paddle rec yaks (and have no roll) have no idea that a skirt ...

Re: You've been bunked!!!!
I’d volunteer this one for your wall, Dale, but its way too much trouble to keep mopping the floor all the time!
Very nice bunkhouse and very generous of you to build it, Dale.

Re: question about racks on campershell
I have been using Yakima racks on my camper shells for years. I have the mounting brackets on the roof, fairly close to the corners. Which is where I believe is the strongest part of the roof. Been all over the country with them mounted this way (plenty of highway time, high winds, etc.) and never h...
