Re: Mulberry advice please

yes. i heard the parking area close to the river might be closed. you might have to park out on Shores Lake Rd and walk in after dumping boats though but it's not far

Re: Newbie with I am sure the same old question

never paddled one but looked at the specs. it would be ok for solo paddling, will haul some gear too. judging by the width, its prob fairly stable. adding a kid will get somewhat cramped in a 13' boat but would work. you could prob find a 16' that would haul a 2nd person/more gear and track better f...

Re: OKC Park question

i have only seen it at 5 pumps. i was told they dont run 6 due to too many raft flips. an open boat would be difficult on the rec course, very continuous and you would need a pump to keep water out, and the eddies were few. the competition course might be a little easier but would def need to get wa...

Re: Pulp mill lower Caddo east of Amity AR

W Ark did this (without the mill) years ago. didnt last long once the easy pickings from landowners willing to clear cut their land ran out.

any idea if National Forests will be part of the supply or will it all come from private land?

Re: Beware Turner Bend Gauge

considering that the usgs gauge is at approx. 2.0, i would say you are in the ballpark. there used to be a reliable .2-.3 difference between the two on a falling river.

i have thought the usgs has been reading a little "low" for a while though, maybe a few tenths.
