Re: WTB larger solo whitewater canoe

I just posted above to sell Mohawk Shaman, not as large as outage X and the XL13. Most describe as way more responsive than similar size probe.

Joe,
American Whitewater has the best database and forums for whitewater accidents. You might look thru there for helmet data.

Roman hit the key point about both helments and lifefjackets. Assuming good quality and good condition, then fit and comfort are probably the main factors for most of us. How much you may want to cover again will depend on a combination of other things like your boat, your style of paddling, and the...

that one really doesn't sound like helmet problem. Fish was there, saw it and would know. I think Protec may have improved their setup, but older versions don't protect as they should. This isn't a one type fits every situtation either, there are some boats and some styles of play that need much mor...

It's a neat gadget with a glass breaker on one end, I leave it in the truck because it's more likely to be used there instead of on the water. The main reason we list knifes as part of the standard gear for paddlers is because of the ...

try WRSI http://www.whitewaterhelmet.com/

this is the helmet I've started recommending in classes, it comes with a wide range of liners. Guarantee to fit, if the included liners don't work, they will send even larger ones to you.

I use the hydoskin stuff a lot also. Works good enough in a pretty wide range of temperatures, and can be a good underlayer for cold conditions. If you can find a breathable splash top or semi-dry top, that would be the next most useful piece. I use tops over hydroskin or fleece a whole lot more oft...

13 foot is my preferred size for whitewater canoes and often the best choice for a lot of people either starting out or maybe beginning to zero in on what works best for them. The three you mentioned are all in the same general class, if you don't have much experience you may not notice the differen...
