Late afternoon Cadron Run Sunday and/or Monday

I'm planning a late run on the short section of the Cadron either Sunday or Monday after work, which means a 4:30 put-in. I may even go both days, but it's not likely.

I'm currently leaning towards Monday, but could be easily swayed if others want to join.

Re: Webshots troubles

I hate to see this happen. Webshots was one of the best spots for sharing photos with family and friends. I guess I'll try one of the other services for sharing or maybe just go back to e-mail. Fortunately I keep all my photos on my computer (and backed-up to a seperate server) so I have no need to ...

Re: snorkeling camera?

I hadn't thought of that option. I was looking at it from the prespective that my W10 is getting old(ish)(5MP and battery life starting to get short) and any camera good enough for snorkeling would be just as good back on the river later. But if renting isn't too expensive it might be a better optio...

snorkeling camera?

I’ve seen multiple camera review threads on here years and of course now I can’t find them. Not sure if they’d have the info I’m looking for anyway since it seems that most “waterproof” digitals are only good to 10 feet and (if you read the fine print) only good for up to 30 minutes at that depth. I...

Sold: Wine making kit

I experimented with making wine out of a record setting plum crop a couple of years back and although it worked okay I’ve decided I like my plum jelly better so I’m selling off my wine making supplies. This is a complete “Vinter’s Best” 5 gallon kit with glass carboy, primary bucket, racking tube, e...

Re: Bayou 167

If I had known where to submit it to I might have, but it's old news now.

Of course it's all still underwater. 167 is closed tonight at least and they think it will still be closed tomorrow. Pretty much everything that flooded last Christmas is underwater all over again.

Re: Bayou 167

Actually the car you see there is just somebody's stalled car, the police are the little flash of blue in the far background of this picture. By the time I got to where they were at I was off in the woods again.

Re: Vilonia: Want to Help But Not Hinder

An abundance of volunteers decended on Vilonia today and claered all the streets so emergency crews could get in and out and also to do wellness checks and other emergency things. There is still work to do if you have friends or family with trees in the yard, but the emergeny work is pretty much ove...

Re: Central chapter meeting???

The Central Chapter meeting is on as scheduled, program and all.

The weather is predicted to get rough out there, but if and where the bad stuff will go is outside my expertese so use your best judgement about traveling and attendance.

Re: Central Chapter Meeting, Tuesday 4-26-11

Next month is the scheduled election Crane. This month will be the last chance to nominate officers as per the e-mail, web post, and blurb in the Paddler. At the time I put out the call those were the dates that would match with the lead time requirements set out in our Bylaws. I suppose we could do...

Central Chapter Meeting, Tuesday 4-26-11

John Slater will be showing and talking about his Alaskan river trip on the Tatshehshini River this month. It should be a good video as they had a videographer on the trip and is pretty pristine piece of wilderness. One week away at the Oyster Bar. Eating and socializing ~6:45-7:30, Official stuff a...
