Mohawk Odyssey 14 (Green) $500. SOLD
Used exactly TWICE, this boat is in great condition. Royalex in great shape, seat in great shape. Not yet rigged for whitewater. I bought it as a blem so there is a small area inside the boat near the bow where the bottom is bubbled up (not sure how to describe it, but see pics). It is an aesthetic ...

Re: Recommendations for good river shoes
Depends a ton on season. Keens, Tevas great in summer but they often do NOT dry overnight and do not provide any insulation in cold weather paddling. I've yet to find a cold season shoe I really like. I have one pair of paddle shoes that won't try in less than 3-4 days without a clothes dryer, so th...

Re: Buffalo River Trip - May '12 by Houston Canoe Club
That's an awfully ambitious itinerary. Someone who has done the river end-to-end can give you more enlightenment (I've done it always in pieces, with the longest trip being only 3 days/2 nights). I know there seems to be something magical about doing "the whole thing" but that just sounds ...

Re: Lawsuit filed over Albert Pike deaths
The suit also claims that Loop D, which sustained the worst of the flooding where the campers died, should not have been built because it was in a flood plain, something the Forest Service knew. OK so.... every NPS site on the buffalo needs to be closed?? Devils den too?? Hell.. I can't think of a ...

I don't begrudge folks making money flipping boats and agree that thebob.com plays an important role in the market being a reputable seller of quality used stuff.

Re: Canoe / Kayak Trailer
When you say that it could haul, for example, motorcycles, how much weight is it rated for? I guess the question is when not hauling boats, we'd like something that could haul two decent sized cruiser bikes.

Re: Suggestions for Professionally-guided Grand Canyon Outfitter
Virtually every outfitter approved as a park service concessionaire has been in busy for decades, has an impeccable reputation, and offers a similar "product." I've gone with both Grand Canyon Expeditions and Arizona Raft Adventures (AzRa) and they were both so terrific that you truly can'...

Re: Advice for new touring/commuting bike?
The Surly is by far the superior option between those two. Raleigh, sadly a name with a storied history, is no longer made in the UK, but are simply re-badged generic aluminum frames mass-produced in Asia. The Surly will also retain better resale (it has a loyal following that no longer exists for R...
