Re: New Chapter Online

I think you have misunderstood. Until recently the Arkansas Canoe Club has had 7 local chapters (ArkLaTex, Central, Dust Bowl, Piney Creeks, NorthWest, North Texas, and River Valley). For a short time we had an eight chapter further west in Oklahoma - the Red Dirt Chapter - but they folded as a chap...

Re: Cossatot Saturday 4/23

Two great days on the Cossatot! Let's see if I can remember who all came out and on which day. I believe Saturday we had myself, Liz, Mitch, James Henry, Doug Barron, Mike and Sarah Gersch in their DUO!, Colt and Alia, and Jeff and Amber Gannon were along for part of the day, too. We lost a few who ...

Yup, we plan to do the same trip again on Sunday - also meeting 10:30 at the takeout below the visitor center. Let me know if you need more precise directions!

Cossatot Saturday 4/23

Meeting at the take out below the Visitor Center (at the river, not at the Visitor Center) at 10:30 Saturday am. We'll set shuttle and head up to Ed Banks. Should be a drop dead beautiful day to be on the water!

Re: Looking to paddle April 23 or 24

It's looking like the Cossatot will be the place to be this weekend. It's peaked but even without more rain it should be close to 4ft on Saturday and still there on Sunday as well. There will be LOTS of folks there. Many (myself included) will spend the night in the area to get two awesome days of b...

CALL for VOLUNTEERS - Cossatot Maiden Voyage

It's that time! This is a call for volunteers willing to act as safety and guides for the annual Cossatot Maiden Voyage/First Timers Trip. This year's trip will take place on Saturday May 14th depending on water level. We are NOT ready to start a list of participants...right now we need to hear from...

Re: Cadron Creek this weekend what to wear?

My thought is it's not really a decision to pick one or the other. Definitely take both. If you decide at launch time that it's warm and sunny enough to go with the lighter layer, take the dry top and another dry under layer with you in a dry bag so that you can either add it or change if needed. Wi...

March 5-6 Fourche Creek Little Rock

The Arkansas Canoe Club is helping clean Fourche Creek but by the scheduled 3/12 clean up date, we expect the creek to be in flood stage if even half of the predicted rain falls next week. If you can spare even just a couple of hours anytime this weekend, Saturday or Sunday, please come out to Fourc...

Re: Dragover 11/8

Hi Jim, Unfortunately, no, it sure didn't look like any road maintenance had been done. There's still a big mud puddle at the take out turn around although plenty of dry ground around it to park and maneuver. Overall the ground coming up from the river and in the parking area was less muddy than in ...
