Grand Canyon Trip Report (prelim version)
As I expected the grand canyon was 1) AWESOME, and 2) some of the biggest water I have paddled. So the quick and dirty Rapids: House rock, it turns out in my opinion is an underated rapid we had our only raft flip, and rower swim there (no kayakers swam the entire trip) the roaring twenties, the gem...

Re: Co. guide arrested for what?
Just put my two cents in  Ryan is a friend of mine and someone I worked with for many years on the Ocoee and certainly an extremely competent guide/kayaker (and sorry) but way more competent than the overweight jokers on jet skis working for the "swift water rescue team" :poke: LO...

Grand Canyon
So, I just lucked into a grand canyon trip at the end of this month. I am looking for advice on things you would take/wouldn't take based on similar western whitewater trips. Obviously food and raft support etc. is taken care of, boat, gear all that got it, tent drybag. I am talking about personal/c...

Re: HAND PADDLE QUESTIONS
Having hand paddled extensively on the ocoee (the only way I paddled that river for about the last two years I guided out there) my advice is this. 1) They will be hard to get off if you don't paddle very often with them and B) will be pointless to carry as a back up if you don't know what you are d...
