George is right. The RBF campsite at the divine equivalent of Turner Bend is filling up fast. Too fast. RIP Hal - one of the good guys.

But there are other, better, alternatives to a (spits on the ground) maggot boat: rafts; bowling; suicide ...Prairie Tater wrote:So Davidbob...pre-retirement Terry is gone, and post-retirement Terry is alive and well. Hope to see you next weekend!

Re: Input requested: 10 Commandments of Paddling
. If Cap'n Downstream says, "It's a step up," RUN, do not walk, away as fast as you can. NEVER follow Cowper's line. If you're at Moore Bridge getting ready to put in and "canoe" tells you you're crazy then leaves to go paddle Hurricane, he's right. If you're in a paddle boat wit...

Re: How to put information on a all black carbon paddle
Prairie Tater a/k/a Terry Prater ought to be all over this. I think he writes his contact information on the black blade with a silver sharpie and then puts a couple of coats of clear lacquer over that. Whatever he does, it works. Terry?

Speaking of the RBF, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that Kenny has 2 new hips! The bad news is that one of them is dislocated.

I just loaded the Apps on my iPhone and iPad. Congratulations, Arkansas Canoe Club message board users. ARG has found new ways to annoy you (and you have Sig to thank).

'Tot Gauge Off?
According the Internet gauge, the water on the Cossatot only fluctuated .2" yesterday (5-31), from 4.1 to 4.3. We thought the difference was much greater, and that the flow when we went through the Falls section was more like 4.5". It was rising while we ate lunch at Dead Dog Beach, kept w...

Re: Tom Kennon's Neurosurgery
I stopped by St. Vincent on the way home from work yesterday only to discover that Tom was ... gone. He was not in his room. Then I looked out the window (I swear I'm not making this up): http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-md7XUHxCG8s/U0gBJ8hzciI/AAAAAAAAAT8/ZU0q9co1wF8/s1600/Gone.jpg A nurse came by and sai...

Breaking News re: ARG & Team Stupid
The core of ARG* (Ranger Rick, Cap'n Downstream and I) were on a Middle Fork trip with Ryan Center back in June. Big Ryan took a liking to the DIB, which was rigged out as a sweep boat on that trip. * Arkansas Raft Guides The same core of ARG finished a Grand Canyon trip yesterday. The DIB was set u...

Re: ARG to Richland? In August? Seriously? UPDATE - PFD foun
ARG picked a well used red Lotus PFD that was lying on the ground at the campground bridge yesterday afternoon, just before we headed out for home (LR). It obviously belongs to a kayaker (don't ask - we could just tell). When we got home its was raining cats and dogs, so Cap'n Downstream and I left ...
