Re: Coming through Arkansas
The Buffalo is great - one of the most beautiful spots in Arkansas. Considering there are many outfitters along the river renting all sorts of boats to just about anyone you should be fine even if you have to go out with out local boaters along. stephanie

Re: Buffalo Flows: New Public Screenings
Eric,
The DVD's are $22.00. The money goes all to something about preservation. As soon as the website is functional they will be available there. As of last weekend the website was not up and the DVD were still being made. s.

Re: Buffalo Flows: New Public Screenings
Debo and Cowper... You guys are stars. Just got back from the Buffalo Flows. It was sold out - wall to wall people. They are also screening it tomorrow around 1 or 2. I have to say I got teary eyed from the first aerial shot of the river. Larry Foley and crew did a beautiful job. To Richard -...

Re: Hello Arkansas
What program? Geosciences possibly? There are plenty of boaters around campus and elsewhere. There are two play spots less than an hour - Fishers Ford on the Illinois (close) and Whoop and Holler on the Mulberry (a little farther). If you just want to get in the water there is plenty of places to go...

Re: Leaving CO, Moving to NWA
The girls... southern women are best. :D All kidding aside if you can't go boating you can go mountain biking, road biking, hiking, climbing, caving almost any day of the year. There is always someone available for fun in the woods. You'll have to go back west for snow sports, but the rest is all po...

Re: Anyone heard any word on Steve Shepherd
Sorry to be slow on the update... My dad is okay, but hurting. He hit a pothole and did a mother of a face plant. He has a serious concussion and can't stand up with out wanting to puke. My mom is screening calls and managing visitors, but I'm sure he'll be on the internet soon if not already. Pleas...

Re: Mulberry Sunday 9.14.08
Did anyone make it to the Mulberry? Is the tree still down across the whole river below Whoop'n Holler? Also did more of the debris wash out of Chainsaw Junction?

Re: Saturday Mulberry
We had a nice three person trip from Wolf Pen to Byrds. Chainsaw jungle is interesting. We just took it from eddy to eddy. Some of the cut material was blown down stream.... you would see a nice 8 foot cut tree trunk washed up onto other trees downstream. Also there is a tree completely across the r...

Tris... I'm actually doing my work, but have been following along. One thing I know from multiple tours of the Fayetteville water treatment plant, they don't purposefully release untreated water, but after massive rainfalls they sometimes have overflows. Also a bit of ribbing "dirty" water...

Re: Resource Activity on Public Land
This is not a comment on whether drilling is good or bad. Those of you who know me, know I'm one of the last people to advocate extracting fossil fuels. But I wanted to add something about the history of conservation, utilization of natural resources on public land, and a clarification about why the...
