Ponca Friday, Long Pool Saturday

My adult son and I will be paddling the Buffalo from Ponca to Kyles Friday and the Big Piney down to Long Pool Saturday.

Post here or PM if you'd like to join and have paddled these before. Looks like decent water, good weather.

Re: Cossatot and Big Piney First Timers Trips

Looking forward to joining the Big Piney group with my son on Saturday. Email sent to Bob Allen. We've paddled the Piney before 3-4 times but not in a long time. Very excited to get back on it. EDITED: just noticed the Piney trip is Sunday so we can't make it, can't figure out how to delete my post....

WHAT'D YA PADDLE IN 2015

My list is modest as always, but a personal record 25 days paddling, with 16 new streams, giving me 86 streams on my quest for 100. Love the inspiration from everyone posting their trips here. New...

Re: Thanks to Dianne and Liz and Volunteers

River School was AWESOME once again. 'It's an honor to be able to participate each year. We're so fortunate to have activities in life that we love enough to share with others. Seeing the big smiles on students' faces, the commitment and passion of instructors and all who help, hanging out with fri...

Re: Reasons no one open boats anymore

Just adding a bit of spice to the board today. Of course there are exceptions to just about every one of these but I do think they make a pretty good case. Now just for fun I'll do my own point counter point. Also because I'm a bit bored today so I'm talking to myself. Why paddling an Open Boat sti...

Re: WHAT'D YA PADDLE IN 2014

We three Sigs did a wide variety of paddling last year though we all wished for more. 2014 brought us up to a lifetime (since 2012) of ~50 streams each. We played with kayaks, canoes, SUP's, and rafts. No drift boats yet! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1422295149.609305.jpg ps - That hours column is crap. ...

WHAT'D YA PADDLE IN 2014

When I joined ACC 6 years ago I had 28 so y'alls inspiration and invitation...

Re: SOT Kayak versus Solo Canoe (please advise)

Good luck with your decision. Tough choice between a sit on top and a canoe. Great choice on the SOT if you go with a kayak. I LOVE my Torrent purchased a few years ago not long after I retired. It is light, sporty, COMFORTABLE, a delight to paddle. it is a "paddlers boat." If you like th...

What Kayakers Can Teach Us About Living Well

From the Huffington Post. We all know this, but it's still good to see paddling covered in the press. The comments after the article are interesting. And as a bonus, if kayakers can teach us this...just think about how much MORE open boaters can teach us! ;) http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/01...
