Re: Cadron gauge (?)

When I went yesterday I'm pretty sure that "white gate" was purple. We parked well out of the way of it and didn't get a note or vandalized so I guess it's cool. Parked and launched from river right last week without any problems. Getting your gear down to the creek is harder from that sid...

Cadron gauge (?)

Went to paddle Hogan's Creek today (4.9) reading on the gauge and it was raining pretty good in the area. I know that's on the low side but I've made it down it before at (4.5) and had a good time. Got to the creek and it didn't even look like it would float a boat so we left. Checked the gauge from...

Re: Deroche Creek Level

I thought De Roche was a lot more fun than the Cadron and without the access problems. I took quite a few pics. What site do you view pics from. I usually post them to Myspace/facebook.

Re: Sat 5/16 paddling plans

Wow that was easy  I know 1 or 2 folks that for sure want to paddle tomorrow. We'll collaborate a plan in the morning. Now back to the

Re: Deroche Creek Level

Big thanks to Lifejacket for checking the level and taking us down his local run. He, Jim, Cossey, and myself went down today and had a blast. Cossey and I went back for seconds. Good water and no portages. Best part is from my door in NLR to the takeout is only 50 minutes, making it a quicker optio...

Re: Friday paddling 5/15

I've never heard of that run but it sounds good. What gauge do you use to estimate the level?

Re: Brushy Creek question

Got it. I'm going to watch the gauge and keep it on the "maybe" list for in the morning. Can't be any lower than some of the stuff Coogan has took me down :poke: . Captain Aleve, your usually down for a workday paddle. Where you at?

Re: Brushy Creek question

On the data it says 4.5 then in the narrative gives the over 5' suggestion. Kennon says 6'.

Brushy Creek question

There is a 1 1/2 ft. difference in the minimum suggested level to paddle between the AW page and Kennon's book. Anybody paddled this recently? What's the verdict?

Re: EFIB Saturday 5/9

No, just page 63 & 64 of Kennon's book. The link you provided to a previous discussion on it didn't sound very fun though. May check out the North Fork. Just wanted something new, not too hard, and not too far from LR.

EFIB Saturday 5/9

I would like to run the East Fork of the Illinois Bayou. Always pass it up to run the middle fork. Hoping to leave out early in the morning. Any takers?
