Here's some video of last Saturday's E&I float. Great day, good weather, lots of eagles, perfect water. Thanks to Rob and Eli for putting this together.

Accident on Spring
Any more info on sink hole drowning on Spring River? Like PDFs/vests, experience, throw ropes, water temp, etc? Seems like a really freaky accident. Also victim seems to have lost his life trying to help others.

Boxley to Ponca March 30 2018
A few NW chapter ACC members floated from Boxley to Ponca on the Buffalo Friday March30. One section was pretty hairy; the river had changed during the recent floods. The main channel was now mostly dry, while a secondary channel had become the new main channel. It was an S-turn with several root ba...

Re: My take on setting up a Z Drag for boat recovery
Okieboater, thanks for the post. I'll check it out. My river rescue skills are very basic, mainly from Rob's course. The Z Drag thing was to practice and convince myself I could set it up if needed.

My take on setting up a Z Drag for boat recovery
I took Rob Moody's SWR L4 course, and got his excellent instruction on setting up a "Z Drag" rope and pulley system to recover a boat pinned in the river by water pressure. At his suggestion, I bought the parts needed to assemble my own "unpin" kit. But setting up a proper Z Drag...

Re: ACC & Facebook
Gordon, you're right, I should have been more specific and referenced the forum. The general website does have nice features. But since this has somewhat morphed into a discussion of privacy and security, I'll add a few more comments. I used to use Windows on my computer, from Win1.0 thru Win7. When...

ACC & Facebook
I suppose everyone who reads or watches any news now knows what Facebook does with your personal data and all your contacts. And remember when they live streamed the torture of a disabled kid in Chicago about a year ago? Is it any wonder that some NWA ACC members aren't keen on Facebook? Why does th...

Mulberry River float Mar 3 2018
Kayaks, canoes and SUPs ran from Wolf Pen to Byrd's CG after the early March rains. My battery quit before the best water, like Whoop & Hollar, but got some footage. Rob Moody really showed his SUP WW skills. Fun day.

Buffalo River paddle Apr 2017
My first attempt at posting a paddling video. Arther Bowie and I paddled the Buffalo from Steele Creek to Kyle's last April. Windy, mild day, with water a little low and cold, but beautiful. Modest crowd. Nothing too exciting in video, just Buffalo beauty. Camera was Sony Action Camera, editing with...

Recovering from a cold, but plan to be there if recovered. I suppose there's a public parking area and launch site?

Missing paddler on Buffalo
News reports say two canoe paddlers were in trouble in vicinity of Kyle's; one trapped on an island, and maybe rescued by now. The other is missing. Search underway until nightfall today Wed 4/26/17. A cooler and floatation device were recovered. Pray.

Re: Buffalo is up - any interest in paddling
Just 2 of us, but trip was great. Weather was perfect. Water level made a few shoals "scratchy", but everything was floatable. I left the Mamba in drydock, and took my rec boat. And NO swimming! Also, from Ponca to Kyles there were no unusual hazards to report on.
