Re: OT: National Parks America's Best Idea - Documentary Film
I have been glued to the T.V. this week watching the Ken Burns documentary. I find the cinematography fantastic and Dayton Duncan's writing superb, they make a great combination. I was born and raised in Hot Springs National Park and took full advantage of it when I was growing up. Hot Springs was s...

Re: OT Hobbs State Park Trails
I Googled Hobbs State Park and found a map of the trails put out by the Friends of Hobbs. The phone number to the park is 479-789-5000. They are also accepting bids until Oct 15 for barrier free trail construction in the conservation area, so it looks like they are improving the trail system. I have...

Re: albert pike
Shady Lake is nice, I agree. I liked Bard Springs because there were no hook ups which means no RVers. I am glad to see it open again. Thanks Tom

Re: albert pike
Bard Springs used to be a favorite of mine in the Little Missouri area. It is on the road from Albert Pike to the Tall Peak / Caney Creek area, but it had been closed the last couple of times I went by. Does anyone know the current status of Bard Springs?

Re: albert pike
Albert Pike has become a haven for travel trailers and 4 wheelers lately, so if you are wanting quiet and seclusion I would not pick Albert Pike. I like the campgrounds on the north side of Lake Ouachita like Buckville or Cedar Fourche.

Re: Greetings (first post)... and the Caddo?
It is hard to tell they were rentals. You folks should be easy to spot. I am fond of the Upper Ouachita for lazy floats. I hope to see you on the river. I would like to get a closer look at the artwork.

Re: North Fork of the Saline River (Benton), Thursday Morning
I just bought a Dagger Legend 16' canoe so I can take Rocky the pooch with me on the river. Two weekends ago Maurine, Rocky and I did the Steel Bridge Road to Riverside for the first time. I was very impressed with water quality and scenery. I have driven by many times but had never paddled the Sali...

Memorial for Bob Hedge (Sunday, March 22)
Bobs Memorial Service is Sunday March 22nd at 2:00pm at the Daniel Cemetery in Wickes. This info came from his obituary in the Democrat Gazette last Sunday 3-14-09. I have no directions to Daniel Cemetery. If someone knows where it is, please post the directions
