Re: HOT SPRINGS CREEK CIRCA 2001
Mike, That was a great trip -- would love to have an 8x10, it you could have it worked up - I would reinburse the cost, plus postage, etc.. I've still got the canoe - would take it out of moth-balls for another trip down Hot-Springs Creek, after you're back in the "paddling business". Keep...

Re: Hwy 14 to Rush minimum water for rafts??
Allen, I have your raft's baby brother, a 12' Star, with 25" tubes -- I think they're a great design. I've taken it on three "Western Rivers" this year - 65 miles on the Salt in late March, 84 miles on the San Juan in late April, and 84 miles on the Desolation & Gray Canyons of th...

Re: Race for the Cure (Paddle for the Cure) (Sat October 17)
Jim it's no big deal, both boat ramps are on Burns Park at the edge of the Golf Course about 1/3 of a mile apart according to my L.R. map. I'm sure that if the first ramp is not in use, it would be the second, the road runs by both -- one may have fallen into disuse.

Re: drybags.. Larger better? or more smaller ones?
Be aware - Watershed Bags are now being made with a new material - very thin and slick. I have an Ocoee (their smallest), both old and new material - so far the new material has been OK on the Ocoee - however, my Colorado, next to largest, made of the new material is failing - the thumb loops are to...

Re: Want to add longer crossbars to my Matrix
This is the same company where I purchased my rack, they've changed the design a little, but it still extends the same as mine. The extending rack is a bit hard to fine, but the suction cup mount is the same as my "over-the-cab" rack.

Richard, running out of gas was probably the best thing that could have happen to us -- at least we got a couple hours of sleep while waiting for AAA to get gas to us north of Des Moines. What was it - about 36 hours to drive to Winona, MN - select, purchase, load four canoes and return to AR?

Re: Smallie Fishing
I've never fished in the Conway area. I live in Clinton about 300 yards from S. Fork of the Little Red. My wife has been seriously ill -- I took a break and fly fished a couple of hours this morning. Caught and released a fish about every three minutes -- all were small. A couple of smallmouth, the ...
