Re: Dagger RPM
I had a RPM and it is the best boat for learning to roll. It has a very small cockpit and scrunches your toes up in the front. You need a boat with a skeg (rudder). I now paddle a Liquid Logic XP9. It has a drop down skeg (with a handle to lower it down or up) on a spring that bounces back up into t...

Re: Swift Water Rescue/Paddling Skills Clinic
Adam, I would definitely like to sign up for a clinic like this. I have been through multiple paddling clinics and it is clear to me that I have a good basic skill set to safely run rivers. I was planning on offering to assist an instructor with their whitewater class this year, but I really need a ...

Re: Colorado Vacation
I recommend stopping by the Royal Gorge and rafting or looking off the bridge or doing the "Skycoaster" thrill ride where you swing off the edge of the gorge (I did it and loved it!). In Salida, stay at http://www.simplelodge.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (gr...

Re: Colorado Too!!
The Missouri Whitewater Association has a beginner / intermediate canoe & kayak trip every year lead by Chris Kelly. Ask about it on their message board if you don't find the info posted there. I went on it a couple of times and it's a great group of folks. You can stop by the Royal Gorge on the...

Re: Pimp My XP
You could beat that with a larger battery or a couple of batteries and a nice sub woofer.
Perhaps a small refridgerator for beverages.
You could rig it for XM or Serius satalite radio with a car antenna kit and have i pod compatibility.
Maybe a rig on the back for an electric trolling motor?

best tie down straps
Does anyone have a strong preference for certain tie-down straps. I kind of like the Yakima straps, but was just wondering if there are better straps out there.
