Stuck high in the willows above Boxley bridge. Orange/red. In the middle of channel. River is still too high to retrieve it.

Lost trekking pole. Leki Makalu. Steel Creek put-in. 1 pm. 05/08 (Monday). Someone picked it up yesterday. Gone by 7 am today. 10.46 ft at ponca and rising. It is not day to be on the Buffalo. Steep creeks are raging!

Live in the headwaters. Got almost 3 inches of additional rain last night ( 8 inches in August). Still raining. Buffalo at Ponca is high and rising. Will be probably in flood stage soon!

These isolated pools are perfect habitat for cottonmouths. We had a very close call few years ago while fishing lower Richland's pools - one of our dogs got bitten (in the eye) by big snake hiding under tree root in one of these pools. So be carefull.

You should have no problem driving to Thirty Mile campground. Thirty Mile Campground is ~ 30 miles from Creede on Rio Grande ~ 1 mile below Rio Grande Reservoir. Great starting point for hiking into Wemuniche Wilderness.
