Apparently the pelican is big news to birders around here. I will tell the park service the pelican is still here. The martins will be gone soon and the eagles will be back.

I paddled out to bird island@ sunrise to beat the heat and check on the baby egrets. A new batch has hatched and I quess them 3 weeks behind the first hatch. It is amazing to me how fast the Egret babies are growing on bird island. Not as hard to see this week but all the branches in the way makes getting a good photo tough.
