Re: Mike Beard

It was good to see everybody at Mikey's service. He was truly a tribe elder and gave the word "character" character. I am surprised that nobody has posted the following........from the card I've carried in my wallet since about 1979. ________________________________________________________...

Re: Interest in slolom races????

Hey everybody...long time, no post. I think the gates that Donald mentioned in his post are the ones that Max and I painted back around 1981. All the materials were paid for by ACC funds so those should be available. I think all the racing stuff (including communications gear?) were given to Don acc...

Re: A very sad day for our paddleing community!!!

I've been out-of-state since last Wednesday and come back to read such sad news. :( Alex, nothing I can say will touch the pain you, your mom and family feel....but realize that your dad was a stand-up guy that many of us loved and respected. The fact that he was loved by so many speaks for itself. ...

Re: Tomcat: I've a message from Louie

no worries Tim. Actually, I was not involved in the final incident that got Louie booted.....but did have many arguments with him. After he finally got booted for his antics, he actually burned his bridges by cussing out the main administrator. Louie and I could have been friends. He and I have many...

Re: Tomcat: I've a message from Louie

You've got to ask yourself....if I do not own BT and not an admin with powers to suspend a person on BT...then how could it be my fault Louie got booted? The answer = he's a loudmouth bully that got himself booted. Yea....Louie the victim.....just like the men who flew the planes into the World Trad...

Should I remember this above the next time I see your boat floating thru the Falls without you in it?

Re: How to Minimize ACC “cheerleading” on this Board

cowper stated: "If you just don’t want to hear about the ACC at all, then don’t drop small negative comments about the ACC that ACC supporters will feel obliged to respond to. " let's look at this in reverse. If a post was made that claimed full ACC credit and somewhat dissed non-members w...

Re: Intervention

quote: "Not to be rude, but this IS an ACC message board, and the first timers trip WAS an ACC sanctioned event. If people hate the ACC so much, then don't come to the message board and don't come to the events." perfect example of what I was trying to convey. So, since the ACC had an &quo...

Re: Intervention

It seems similar to, let's say, someone is invited to join a dinner circle where members share the cost of the food and wine. They decline to join, but show up anyway, eat and drink and then complain about how all the food was prepared. It seems the non club members complain and criticize the club ...

Re: Intervention

Seems like the non club members enjoy the benefits of the ACC while at the same time enjoying their non membership. It just seems a bit ironic. jody Oh, I totally agree with you. I'd like nothing better than to have another non-club board that is paddling related for our area. That seems to be a ve...

Re: Intervention

The ACC has hosted their fair share of this debate already. I think it is time to take it over to the non-club members forum. You know, the one that they host and take responsibilty for. jody I realize that jody is using some sarcasm here as I know of no non-member message board for this area (jody...

Re: Intervention

Didn't this start out as a cool story about a raft recovery? how did it get all turned around into issues of member or non members? doesn't matter, good thing is that they got their boat back. networking got it back for them. let's just all get along  Michelle, as I've already pointed out, it...
