Re: Mar 17-31 Paddling Southern Missouri & Arkansas Rivers

Al and Ana are fine folks and thanks to them for spark plugging this event over the years.' It is a tribute to Al that he has developed leadership backup to keep the event going. Way to go Al and Greg! Every one of the folks in this group are so much fun to camp and paddle in. I thought I knew MO pa...

Re: Shutdown

Butch, reading the article you posted really makes me sad.

Basic respect for our shared parks seems to be going down hill fast.

Re: Glover River - Southeast Oklahoma

Note: That Boy Scout Camp may not be a public put in. If memory correct, we were working off a map. Saw the BSA camp and just drove in. No one there and we had a shuttle bunny so we launched, did the run and got picked up on the paved highway. Terry is a great source of information on OK little run ...

Re: Open House Gear Sale?

For what it is worth, I used Facebook for a while when it first came on line. Then a bit of research showed me just how they track every thing members do with all sorts of trackers and beacons. I got off the service and will never use it again. Facebook is one of the most profitable business operati...

Re: Beginner kayak recommendations

This question comes up a lot. That is what kayak design should I buy . There are many answers and most of them are good. My long term paddle friend Cowper, offered the best answer for newby paddlers I know of. Forgot the actual words but it was something like " buy what ever you find and can af...

16 ft Cat Boat for sale

Many of you know I had a near death accident in Grand Canyon that left me less mobile than I was before the accident. I rehab’ed to the point I can handle the JPW Cutthroat Mini Cat individual parts that Jack and myself designed pretty good off the water. Rowing that mini cat on the water, is pretty...

Re: My take on setting up a Z Drag for boat recovery

Henry, Thank you for taking the course, sharing what you learned and the interest you have on various techniques. I am not sure of the date but many many years ago Wayne Sundmacher came out to Hot Springs and put on a week long ACA River Rescue Instructor clinic for us. Not sure but that may well be...

For what it is worth, I have several brand name hi dollar so called breathable bivy's and none of them work. I wake up with a wet sleeping bag. You pay the postage and I will send you one more than one if I can find them or have not thrown them away. I picked up a USMC surplus (supposed to be brand ...

Gordo, I love you as a paddle bud, have to disagree a bit with your defense of data aggregators. I applaud your specific company for doing the "right" thing on data research. It is unfortunate, that the major players like Facebook, Google, Twitter and others do things with our most private...

Re: ACC & Facebook

When Facebook first became popular, a rafting bud of mine used it for communication (with pictures) for a western river trip. It was good for that and I used Facebook for a while. I made my living off computers from the room sized units to the personal computers. I began wondering how facebook was m...
