Re: Geez this board is dead.

Plenty of ways to get arguments and creative discussions going on this board (and other moderated ones). You just have to be more creative than "calling you a brainless Republican would be redundant" or "if global warming exists it's caused by the hot air emitted from liberal tree-hu...

Re: Geez this board is dead.

The board has been kinda dead lately - no fun hot topics to talk about anymore. How about a nice thread debunking the hype of manmade global warming and exposing the real agenda behind it all? Well, aint supposed to talk about that here cause it's a canoe club. But hey - you can talk about it here o...

The old RR trail in Shirley is really nice, Clif. It starts next to the Shitake center.
So the trailhead is by the outhouse?

Re: Cows are killing the planet!!

The above referenced post was directed at no one in particular. However, if the shoe fits - wear it. Pardon me, but I provided links to lots of science. Go back through the thread and read the posts. Click on the links; there you will find the science you accuse me of not providing. There are two si...

Re: Cows are killing the planet!!

Global Warming Groupthink: 'How many fingers am I holding up, Winston?' 'Four.' 'And if the party says that it is not four but five -- then how many?' 'Four.' The word ended in a gasp of pain. The needle of the dial had shot up to fifty-five. The sweat had sprung out all over Winston's body. The air...

Re: Firearms in national parks

Oh yeah, on what Butch was talking about: I used to do a lot of hunting, but not so much anymore - since I discovered kayaking, canoeing, etc. I absolutely quit hunting on public lands because of some of the behavior Butch described. In my opinion, most hunters are pretty ethical and responsible fir...

Re: Firearms in national parks

Gun laws are tricky - mainly cause they're so vague. And they are different in every state. What compounds the trickiness of the situation is that the vagaries of these laws are sometimes left to interpretation of individual jurisdictions within the states. Let's forget about the CHL deal for right ...

That was quite a piece, Chester. Thanks for taking the time to express simply and clearly what so many of us think and feel.

Ok, that statement was kinda lame.... Let's try this again...

Re: Controlled Burn

Looking forward to the campfire chat as well, Tris. We'll have to do that soon. Gotta chainsaw and a match? For that, I do. hahaha

Sounds like a nice little Thanksgiving expedition you have planned there - be safe! (And enjoy the cheaper gas - saw it for $1.55 today...)

"There are some great issues at play here and a lot of gray despite an enormous amount of data on the subject."

Precisely. And the issues have little to do with... well, I'll save it for a more appropriate time and place.
