Re: Grassy Lake Wetland Tour #3 2/28/2015

My first time on Grassy Lake. I was really impressed by this water trail. Definitely will go back in the spring when things are a little greener. Should be even better. Highly recommend this float. And only 20 minutes or so from Little Rock. What a deal. Thanks for everyone involved in marking these...

Re: Grassy Lake Wetland Tour #3 2/28/2015

Thank you Debbie. Was going to try to make this trip even with the cold weather. Wasn't sure it would work to start a small fire in my kayak. Think it will be much more enjoyable with better weather. I talked to Al Gore and he said the global warming will kick back in during March. Yeah!

Re: Yakima Racks and Ozark Outdoor Supply

Wow, you guys brought back an old experience that I will never forget. Lucky no cars right behind me when the rack came off. Wind was definitely a factor that day. The racks were on a two door Honda Accord with a short roof line. It had to have an extender to put any kind of yakima rack on top of it...

Re: Arkansas River Paddle Through Lock and Dam Saturday 5/31

No excuses for me not to go on this paddle. Probably could have carried my boat to the launch area from where I live. Want to thank Debbie for providing the experience of going through the lock and dam. Pretty cool. And was helpful to have the coast guard instructions added on. The things I learned....

Re: Tour #2 Wattensaw Bayou Saturday December 14

Thanks Debbie. My first time on Wattensaw. A little tougher steering today but lots of fun. Only one portage and I can't even count that since Woody pulled my boat over, with me in it. Sure glad I threw an extra jacket in my car. Cold. Good to meet some new people.

Re: Winter Wetland Tour #1. Bayou Deview (Sat Nov 30)

I am so excited. Going to throw the spiders and bugs out of my kayak and make it on this trip. Lots of water and a great swamp. Now if the weather would just be decent. Hope my paddles still work.

Thank you Debo!

I am not going to be able to make it. Really hate to miss Wattnesaw but will have to catch it next time. You all have fun. Know you will.

Re: Wattensaw Weather Watch for 12/11

Meets my criteria. Over 40 degrees. I should be able to tell you by Saturday morning if I am a definite. But if all is left to me I will be there. That is a wishy washy "Yes" vote. I'm going to go buy one of those Omni-Heat jackets. Then you can jump in the cold water and all you do is put...

Re: Wattensaw or DeView Sunday 12/5

Nice pictures Mikki. By my GPS we traveled 5.4 miles through a very scenic section of Bayou Deview. Met a couple of new people and had lots of fun. Cowper and Debo got an A+ grade, finishing with as many participants (10) as they started with. Hmmm, at least if I counted right at the put in. You kno...

Re: little maumelle

If you are going to shuttle to the ramp on Burnett road, please note that they have changed the name of this short road to "Sweetwater". The road is easy to find, immediate right after you cross the railroad tracks on Pinnacle Valley road off Cantrell/hwy 10. The float from Pinnacle mounta...

Re: Fall and Winter Wetlands Touring Schedule

Looks like a great line up to me. Plan to make as many as possible. And the new year's float right down the road. How convenient.

Stay in the main channel. Yeah, right!

Thanks Debo,

Re: Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge Fall Festival!! 9/18

Cowper, didn't know where you had been until I saw the map. We were trying to get to the river channel. When I got home and got a better look at the map and our track it looked like the only way we were going to get to it was that small channel just north of where we were. Of course had to traverse ...
