Re: What's the Coldest Weather you Paddled?

my perspective on what's cold paddling changed when i moved to NE Wisconsin a few years back. Spring brings big flows and awesome play boating waves and big water runs in the northwoods. Too bad it's 30 degrees… but the waves are worth it. https://vimeo.com/63487947" onclick="window.open(t...

Re: whitewater kayaking and corrective eyewear

my teenage son relies on these. he loves them. prescription swim goggles. he's a -11 prescription but the -10s are good enough for paddling. he really likes open eyes when rolling. contacts would move and with the amount of correction he needs, lost lens would be a big deal. you do need to learn to ...

off topic: back country hiking suggestions

I got a buddy heading down from WI in late March wanting to do a 3 night back country hike with his family (wife 2 kids). Kids are middle school aged but very experienced (so tough hikes are OK, they did Big South Fork in TN/KY last spring break). They will be eventually visiting family in Tulsa... ...

Re: GoPro pole mount

whatever you use... cut it fully across at the bottom (near boat) and duct tape it back together. that will give you a point of failure if you flip in a shallow spot. run some shock cord up through pipe to act as a tether.
