Re: Illinois Bayou Tuesday?

As Alyssa's homeschool teacher, I gave her credit for high adventure outdoor education with the principal. Today she has to do double math and grammar!

P.S. Alyssa told me that her dad must be the greatest stern-man since Lecky Haller.

Re: Thanks Dale and Pam

Our family had a great time at the Halloween party, too. Thanks so much Dale and Pam for sharing your beautiful place with all of us. The food Sat. nt. was great! Alyssa especially enjoyed the haunted hike and playing with all the other kids (and the dogs). She didn't want to come home Sunday. Thank...

Re: day hikes or touring float recommendations?

I think Richard is referring to the Collins Creek Trail located at the JFK Rec. area just outside of Heber. There is a parking lot on the left side of the road on the way down to the campground. You can walk down to the creek from here, or you can hike up the trail from the camground. I think it's a...

Re: Farewell Arkansas!

Scott, congratulations on the job! We'll miss you, but Memphis isn't that far away. You'll have to come back and surf Alyssa in a raft at Rockport every now and then. She has talked of that many times since Gov't Day. She had a blast and is convinced that you could have surfed that wave forever. Goo...

Re: Current River trip report

Randy covered the river details pretty well, but left out my other favorite part of our Current River trips--the wildlife. This year was no exception. Saturday the Kingfishers were very active and noisy all along the way. From time to time during the day, we scared up several ducks. They were moving...

Re: Grand Canyon Adventure Move - River at Risk

I just checked the Imax Theater in LR at the Aerospace Education Center and they are not currently showing it :( . The website is http://www.aerospaced.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Also, if they do get around to showing it, take advantage of their Friday night family...

Re: How was Surf & Turf?

I would also like to add my thank-you. I really appreciate all the good food that was provided. The burgers seemed better than ever. All the other side dishes and desserts were awesome too. Craig and I did the downriver float Sat. a.m. and it was great to grab a plateful of food when we got off the ...
