I understand...I would think that during "downtime" the rescue teams could work with us or have classes that way we would be prepared for this. Granted we usually would not get called out, but I think if they said you four boaters handler this stretch and so on...one could comb the river q...

That's what matters...I could handle loosing material possessions..but loosing your wife/son/daughter while trying to save a material possession or two cause of flooding...I don't think I could live with myself. I pm'ed someone earlier on this and I think it was probably a cluster trying to get out ...

How many do they have...Not that I'm going...but I would think they would want members from ACC to help with their efforts!? Just curious on some of these rescue efforts..I'm guessing JetSki's are powerful enough to go up and down stream looking for people correct and I know most swift water rescue ...

Not that it may mean much coming from me...a non ACC member and not as active as I used to be in Paddling (got two wee one's now that take our time :P). Anyway, one of my other organizations that I belong to that deals with dry land and geocaching have come up with a great idea to help get volunteer...

God I pray that children didn't get swept away! I'm tearing up at the thought of 12 people loosing their lives in a swift current of death! Fingers crossed and all that it's not as bad as the reports make it out to be!
