Re: Law Enforcement on the Remmel Section

I didn't read all of the posts, so feel a little guilty about making a comment. But, based on personal experience I would like to make these notes. 1) The law as written seems to consider a raft on a river as an item "easily swamped". Since I know someone who got a ticket for not having a ...

Environmentally green

It's really in fashion these days to be "environmentally friendly". I've got nothing against that. However, I frequently seem to run into situations where people or companies are full of crap and trying to pull the wool over my eyes. Normally, I don't say anything, but the other day this h...

Re: If you want to laugh

Well I must say I'm feeling a little bit depressed right now :( . After years of professional training and experience, I see that a brainless piece of foam can: Pick a better line that I can. Run the line more successfully than I can. Roll better than I can. Rodeo better than I can. It's just not fa...

Spirit creek

Was up on Spirit Creek last weekend and it is a mess. There are several sets of new sweepers and strainers across the creek. If you are wanting to run it this year a good sized crew with lots of chainsaws will be required. http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2438006680103348277NwCEHk" onclick=...

Re: Hybrid car

Certainly the burning of hydrocarbons seems to be the most cost effective way to use energy at this time. While I would love to believe we can "invent" our way out of this, I wouldn't count on it. Most of our engineering energy right now is used to incrementally improve our current inventi...

Hybrid car

This is an interesting article. The hybrid and plug in car craze is not only going to lead to the need for more power plants (which use coal, nat gas, or nuclear fuels), but is going to require huge amounts of rare earth metals (which are called “rare” for a reason). Sounds like the scientists need ...

Re: Can you guess the year?

I'm going to guess 1988. The older Blue Hole canoes had interiors that were the same color as the exterior. Later models all had grey interior regardless of exterior color. Of course the Norse paddle was the paddle through the decade. I even have a rare (I guess it's rare, I've only seen one other) ...

Is West Cedar there today?

According to the Frog gage it isn't, but I'm guessing the Frog gage is stuck/broken/or other. Anyone got a visual?

Re: Propane Usage Calculation

You may also note the fine print at those 20# tank bottle exchange places like Lowe's and Walmart sell say "17 pound fill".

It's kinda like when the $1 10# bag of ice suddenly started to weigh 8# but still cost a $1.

Re: Lee Creek Rd (big puddle of water)

I just went up there today (Sunday). I decided to go to the takeout and see if anyone was there. Unfortunatley, a local in an S10 was burried axle deep in the middle of the hole. I could not even pull him out with my 4x4 1/2 ton. His son showed up a few minutes later and pulled him out with a one to...
